About To Sok Chon

To Sok Chon is a well-established restaurant known for its traditional Korean comfort food, particularly popular for its 돼지국밥 and gamja tang. The dishes are classic, well balanced, and often feel homemade, offering a satisfying experience with generous portions of meat, especially in the soups. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a comfortable place for a simple meal. The service is efficient, with attentive staff who refill side dishes, like the highly praised kimchi banchan, without needing to be asked. The location is convenient, situated near King Spa, ideal for a meal before or after relaxation. While many diners recommend the soup for its hearty flavors and generous ingredients, a few have noted inconsistencies in depth of flavor in some dishes. Overall, To Sok Chon remains a solid choice in Palisades Park for those looking for authentic Korean food at reasonable prices, with a menu that includes a variety of options like pork soup, chicken doritang, and hangover ramen.

If you want some nice authentic Korean food, this would be a good spot! There is a decent amount of seating but we had to wait about 3 minutes for 7 people

My friend and I got the jeyuk bokkeum + kimchi jiggae combo and it was so so good. The portions were smaller obviously but it was so filling. The kimchi jiggae was so good with lots of meat and tofu. The jeyuk bokkeum did have that slight pork smell but it was fine for the most part.

My favorite kimchi jigae (kimchi soup) (김치찌개) in the area. The kimchi has a complex savory, fermented, rich but tart flavor that you look for in a kimchi soup. It includes pork, tofu, kimchi and scallions.
The oxbone soup was great too.

Another go to spot in North Jersey.
Very warming, great volume of food, & delicious.
A soulful tasting experience w/ accommodating staff.
