Every visit is a challenge to finish. There are way too many delicious appetizers to go through that no matter what you choose you are going to run out of room. Favorite appetizers are the hummus (legendary) and the falafel. By the time you get to the Mashawi platter you’re raising the white flag. The only issue with this location is the street parking. You may have to walk a couple of blocks!
Honestly, Al Basha in Paterson was more than an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was very busy and crowded, so we had to wait for a table to open up. Even though there was a short delay, the manager himself, Mr. Wasim, came to personally apologize for the wait, which was very respectful and professional. About five minutes later, they seated us at a very nice table.
One thing that really stood out to me was their hospitality....

This restaurant if they could, they’d probably charge you for the air you breathe inside!
I ordered food and asked small dish of tomatoes, and they still charged me for that.
Most other restaurants don’t charge for tea when you order food they offer it as a gesture of hospitality.
But not this place — they want to charge you for everything.
Come on, be a little generous!
