“Been here a bunch of times. Today I ordered ahead the mother's day catering special. They accommodated my gluten free and dairy free needs. I got half tray of penne pomodoro, half tray of grilled chicken with peppers, onions and potatoes, a large house salad, broccoli rabe with sausage and a bag of dinner rolls. In total, it came to just over $88. Food was great, not heavy at all, fresh ingredients. There was a rude, obnoxious woman complaining about waiting for 30 minutes, causing a scene. But to be fair, I waited almost 40 minutes, and there were 7 other people waiting too. They were slammed being a holiday with several catering orders.

The staff was friendly and attentive, Marco and Roberto ensured our evening went smoothly from start to finish. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We started with an assortment of antipasti & family style appetizers that were fresh and bursting with flavor. My guests enjoyed a variety of dishes, from delicate seafood pasta to juicy skirt steak, and everyone left raving about their meals. “Been going to Mediterranean Grill for years. First time since they did the place over. Looks very nice. Crisp and clean and very warm and friendly atmosphere. Food is always on point, staff friendly and attentive enough to not be overbearing. Wish we would have sat outside on the patio, it was a great night for it, but the entertainment indoors made us glad we did not ask to be moved. Always a pleasure to see Tom. Spent many a night with friends at the bar chatting and enjoying whatever special drink he would make us.. Great host !!“

“Recommend: Pork Braciole & Meatball with gnocchi, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken
Good: clams and mussels in white wine garlic sauce, pan seared scallops with rigatoni
Meh: house salad

The pork Braciole was very unique but the meatballs and gnocchi were a little too soft for it to be perfect.

The clams and mussels were tasty and the sauce was thickened and was delicious on the bread.

The scallops were sliced thinly and ended up being a little overcooked.

Fettuccine Alfredo in my opinion the noodles were too thin to hold up to the thick sauce but it was the favorite of others.“

“Food, ambience and service were all fine. Background music was a bit loud and disruptive at times, at least in the bar/lounge area. Value was good for their bar menu and 30% off on certain things. Though my credit card fee was charged on the gross amount before the discount AND I was taxed on the credit card fee as well. Simply should be taxed on the food and beverage only, otherwise taking advantage of the patron.“

Being a vegetarian, and without seeing clear labeling on their menu, I called the restaurant ahead of time to find out what was safe to order. The guy I chatted with (possibly the Manager, Walter?) was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure he got me the right info for dishes, and communicated with the cook after we ordered to avoid any mix-ups. All of the food (cheese ravioli with parmesan, garlic sauteed spinach, beet salad, plain rolls) was fresh and the quality was exceptional. Portions were large and I was able to eat on them for a couple days. The plain cheesecake was literally the best I've ever had in my life. 🙌 I'm still dreaming about it and wish I could have it shipped to TX. I definitely recommend Gencarelli's Pine Brook for a delicious night out or even a relaxing night in. Can't wait for my next visit to NJ!“

The owner Rosario, who is the chef is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and his food is truly amazing.
