“This place was fantastic! Over the years I've been here maybe 10 times. I never complain when my friends or family suggest this place to eat for dinner. The waitresses are always a pleasure to deal with. They assist me well when I ask for all my extras and meal modifications. The chef ?‍? in the back is on point. I wish GYRO TOWN long-term success in these challenging economic times

Parking: Paid street parking can be a bit full sometimes, causing me to circle once or twice. I typically never have to walk more than a half a block.“

“Great spot in a crowded neighborhood filled with bougie restaurants. Got the chicken shawarma sandwich, which was easy to grab and take on a stroll to Brooklyn Bridge Park. I'm not crazy about Mediterranean food, but this was very enjoyable.“

“Reliable. Literally a fixture in the park. Prices have gone up but that’s everywhere. I remember when it was 4/5 dollars. Now it’s 9! Fine.
Portion size was good. Makes it worth it.
Hot sauce is spicey.
Can of soda only 1 dollar.

“We have been getting take-out from Falafel Hut for many many years. It’s a great option for a reasonably priced meal. We have had a variety of items from the menu and have been happy with them. We have also ordered for parties / group gathering and everyone was happy with the meal.

“This place has insane falafels! Their pita is fresh and tahini and red sauce are homemade and delish! Their portions are generous and today they were handing out a free sample falafel. Of course, you get your food and eat it across the street by the fountain in front of an office building but that added to the charm too. A couple of suggestions: keep pouring ice over your drinks to keep them cold and more Kerry’s in your salad and less onions. Thanks .“

“I’ve been going to mamoun’s since 2009 (back when a falafel was only $2.50!). I CRAVE this place every time I’m in nyc. The OG NYC falafel and still the best I’ve ever had in the USA. They’re now a small chain. This is the original location and the only one worth going to. The other more corporate locations are not as good. Beware, the hot sauce is INSANELY hot, and they are cash only.“

“Love the falafels from this place. They have so many toppings to choose. You can get a platter or gyro with either lamb, chicken beef or falafel. I only get the falafels but they are banging. Then you can pick lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers, olives, pickles, and/or chickpeas. It's delicious 😋 I only took off one start for atmosphere because their tv is so loud lol always a turn off for me. Cheers“

“Dude, that burger was awesome! They ground the beef right there while we were ordering. The fries were perfectly crispy and so good. I think they coulda bundled the fries and a drink to make a few extra bucks and make ordering easier, though.

And I wish they had a soda fountain with refills for one price.“

“Benjy was very kind, and straight to the point. The place is chalov yisroel, and the pizza was surprisingly delicious. The store is a bit outdated but in my opinion is reminiscent of the old pizza shops we went to as kids in a cozy kind of way. Benjy, keep being you.

“The falafel here is superb! It’s light and crispy with a full flavor. I usually order the falafel platter that comes with red quinoa, hummus, pickles, Israeli salad and cabbage. It also comes with pita but I’m GF so I opt out. They also have Dr. Brown’s sodas which is the icing on the cake! The owner and staff and friendly and want to make sure you have the best falafel in town! Highly recommend!

“Whenever I am in the area, I have to get my fix!! The Lamb Gyro Platter and Chicken Gyro Platter are so good. You are going to want to order both. I wish I had taken a picture. The last time I was here was in Nov 2021, my flight got in after midnight, so I didn't get to my hotel until close to 2AM. This was one of the few places open, and the food was so good. “$9 for combo over rice. They don’t list prices on the truck for some reason. The yellow rice is great and has a bit more texture than the rice from the truck across the street. The white sauce is also good—not too heavy, not too light. The rest of the platter is satisfactory, but doesn’t stand out to me.“

“These street carts were peppered all over NYC. Am unsure why certain carts have longer queues than the rest even though they were all from the same franchise. Nothing much to comment on the taste. I didn't like the mess on the plate which was heavily slathered in white sauce. Reasonably priced. Portions are huge.“
