“My wife and I visited for dinner and ordered the Rodizio. Everything was very tasty and there was nothing I could complain about.Our waiter was Omar and he was very good.I'm used to going to the Newark, NJ location.I highly recommend these locations. My understanding is that the Manalapan, NJ location doesn't offer rodizio service.“

“Service was excellent. Food was very good. But some things could be changed. For instance, serving French fries and potato chips with steak cheapens the meal. There were no form of green vegetables in the dinners. Vegetable consisted of some 4 or five dots of purried something and a few tiny cubes of maybe parsnips. Restaurant can't be contacted via phone, only internet. Big problem. Sometimes a customer needs to contact restaurant to speak to someone directly and guickly.. But this is impossible. Overall food was excellent and facility was nicely set up and very appealing looking.“

“Guys this is a great restaurant. The food is delicately prepared. The flavors and presentation are top notch. That being said the beautiful family the own this restaurant are the warmest and appreciative people. You’ll keep coming back and bring friends and probably tell everyone as well. It’s a must!“

“The Portuguese Fisherman is a slam dunk no brainer must visit restaurants! There isn't one single detail that they can improve. It's beautiful inside. The dining area is bright clean comfortable and spacious. My date and I were able to have a fun time and private conversations while surrounded by happy chatting diners. The front house staff were amazing seating us in a great spot and the waiter was the perfect level of attentive. Everyone was happy and pleasant which adds to a really great vibe. We entered through the bar which was lively and exciting. We'll certainly try the bar next time opting for a little more intimacy. Another note on the bar, the drinks we had were fantastic!!! The food that comes out of the kitchen was mega delicious! We had the octopus appetizer that was the most remarkable I've ever had. This is not said trivially, I've eaten in thousands of restaurants and I cook. Octopus is difficult to get right and they did it to perfection. My date and I had 2 different dishes and tried each others. The paella was just fantastic and the portion was enough for the two of us. My companion had the Mariscada that was also made to it's an absolute must visit!“

“This place is amazing. The food was fresh and huge portions. I’ve been here about 3-4 times. I like this restaurant very much. The sangria is phenomenal! Best I’ve ever had. The salad, simple but incredibly delicious. Fresh baked bread also does not disappoint. I’d definitely recommend, even the sangria alone is worth the trip. They’re definitely doing something right there!!“

“If you're from Portugal you probably already know about Carvalho's in South River and have stood in line to sit down or order takeout in this small Portuguese neighborhood bakery/cafe. Regular customers always make me feel right at home as they welcome me with a warm smile and a bom dia!...while personnel keep order prep, the customer line moving and the tables happy with freshly baked out of this world breads, pastries, coffees, breakfasts and sandwiches. I Visit NJ frequently and while I'm there, I drive to Calvalo's early EVERY morning to have my warm Pastel de Nata (as good as the best in Portugal) before they are gone. The baked goods won't let you down as you're sure to walk out after eating with....Natas, buns, soft cinnamon breads, hearty all grain breads, almond breads, dense corn breads etc... Quality and consistency is guaranteed as you seldom see the owner in the front, always working the kitchen ensuring her team produces the best quality day in and out. “02.23.24 I was looking for a 'chill spot' conveniently located between work and home. I went on Yelp and this place popped up. I just got off work and I arrived about 10:20pm. This bar/restaurant was still serving food from the entire menu. Andrea made my classic margaritas (5 star). I paired the margaritas with caldo Verde soup (5 star) and clams casino (3 stars). If I get off work early again and I'm not in the mood for typical 'bar food', this is definitely my 'go to' spot.“

“Wonderful place ! The cappuccino is the BEST my wife and I have ever had. The orange juice is very fresh and tasty. The pastries that my wife and I have tasted are also very yummy. M y wife always has a veggie omelet and says it is excellent. The bakery/deli is owned and operated by a very kind and warm family who always have time to chat and make you feel very much at home and welcome. My wife and I love Nossa Aldeia.“

“Delicious food, nice sized portions, and the sangria is really good. Would have been 5 stars, but it's a bit expensive...Not enough to keep us away, just be prepared! We shared 1 appetizer, had 2 meals (we did pick the most expensive items on the menu, lobster and Chilean sea bass), 1 dessert, 1 pitcher of sangria, and 2 Irish coffees, and our bill was almost $300. But, we'll be back because it's THAT good!“

“I've ordered from here when I lived close.. now I was visiting someone in hospital and had no wallet on me but the owner Carlos and the sweet girl at the counter gave me a monster take home platters of the tastiest BBQ I've had in long time and he just outright gave me the meal without any money truly act of incredible kindness and class... Assorted vegetables were cooked and seasoned properly which is not always the case at buffets. One thing I appreciate is the quality of the chicken; so often from other restaurants it's tough or fatty which is gross, but this place's chicken is always cooked correctly with no fatty pieces. I must say the gentleman that helped me had excellent customer service skills, was funny, courteous and helpful, the food came out pretty quickly, the environment and was clean but more importantly the food was great.
