“I moved from The Bronx to New Jersey four years ago I go to the gym across the street LA fitness .I came here one day and never looked back . They are truly amazing. !!!!!!Their customer service is outrageous. They greet you like your family, They are absolutely Amazing. The bagels are GREAT, Apple turnovers even better , their homemade oatmeal cookies nice and crunchy are perfect but most of all the avocado every time I ask for a sandwich it's ALWAYS ready to eat.“

“Ok so being Google keeps asking me to review here I thought and nice Sunday morning coffee and bagel would be good. There is a big parking lot being it’s part of a shopping center. Walking in no confusion as to where to go to order. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. I think it took me longer to make my coffee then it took to make and bag my bagel. Let me stop boring you with the BS stuff let’s talk bagel and coffee. I have been to a few bagel shops and I have to say Manhattan Bagel has the softest bagels. I did just get a buttered salt but wow the outside was mildly crunchy but like I said nice and soft in the middle. As far as coffee I tried their fall blend pumpkin spice and it tasted very deluded, not to much taste. They didn’t have French vanilla so I went with the pumpkin. Would I go back 100% the bagel was fantastic“

“One of the best bagel places in town. Here for $10, I can actually get cream cheese and a good serving of lox on a bagel, and even add onion and tomato on it. Normally, I'd have to go to NYC or make it myself to get a good cream cheese and lox. Also, based on one of the other reviews, I tried the Fat Marlena. Great breakfast or brunch wrap if you want something filling and not greasy. If you want something lightly sweet to take home, their French Toast bagels are great toasted with butter. (we had them with some maple butter on hand from a farmers market, and it was a-maz-ing!) Not in the mood for a bagel today? They have tons of other great breakfast options all under $10!“

“Great breakfast sandwich options for less. Called ahead every time and without fail, my order was ready to go every time I walked in. We enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant as well as plain bagels with cream cheese. The coffee was also nothing to scoff at either. We definitely enjoyed our breakfast, so much so that we went back the next day. And for the price, you can't beat it. Definitely better than what you will get at the nearby hotels and for less.“

From the outside, the place might not grab your attention, it may even seem like somewhere you wouldn't go, but don’t judge a book by it's cover! The food coming out of this kitchen is delicious, fresh, flavorful, and made with care. If you’re hunting for a legit bagel or breakfast sandwich, go here.

What really stood out during my visit was the service. Wael, the gentleman working the front counter, was exceptionally polite, attentive, and patient. His attention to detail and willingness to listen closely to my order, especially as someone who likes to customize their breakfast sandwiches, this was refreshing. In many bagel spots, staff can seem rushed or distracted, but Wael made the experience easy.

Whether you're a classic bacon-egg-and-cheese kind of person or someone who likes to get a little creative with your sandwich, Bagel 1 delivers quality without the chaos. The spot is low-key, but the flavor is next level.

Large drink selections, many diet drink options too.

Own parking lot, 6 or 8 tables to dine in.

Large staff, everybody working, always cleaning, straightening up, very impressed with how they take care of the kitchen/prep area while they're working.

“I always had Dunellen Bagel when I lived there and it’s the best bagel I’ve ever had. I moved and bagels aren’t the same here so everytime I visit Jersey I have to go to Dunellen Bagel and I have my husband addicted too. He’s never tasted a bagel like this and he was amazed. So we bring bagels back home in our carry-on and freeze them at home. I would 100% definitely recommend this place!“

The girls in the kitchen are always very friendly, but the older woman at the cash register always seems to be in a bad mood and has a terrible attitude. “Very small bagel store, no frill interior. I believe they have a couple small tables at most and a wall hung flat panel. Tables may have been removed during peak COVID. Parking is pretty decent, I can typically get a parking spot without issue. Some bagel varieties do run out quite early in the morning. Typically everything bagel, salt, egg, wheat, blueberry are available later in the day. I do feel these bagels are some of the best in the immediate area, not bready, with enough chewy and crispy parts and moist. They have basic variety of bagel flavor selection but not a huge variety. Bagels have always been spot on consistent. Friendly staff and typically quick service.“

Their multi-grain and french toast bagels are awesome too. Great food. Cooks prepare the food correctly. The staff are very friendly, it shows when they are rushed or stressed, but otherwise they are welcoming and thank us for coming in. It looks like some reviewers have complained about the staff, but the staff always welcome us when we walk in the door, they are kind, friendly and joke around with us. You cant ask for better! The coffee is great! Tasty and fresh, I love some of the flavored beans, but they don't always have every flavor available. Chicken salad and tuna salad and other lunch options are also very tasty.“
