Until now, that is! Surrender Cafe recently became available on DoorDash. This is the first time I've ever ordered from a place, and then immediately again the next day. I especially love that so many of their dishes are available in smaller portions. Want to try the mofongo? Here's the mofonguitos! And meat-only portions can be had of just about everything in small, medium or large sizes, which made it easy for me to sample the beef and chicken guisado, red and black beans, pernil, so I ordered the bistec ecebollado for my main dish. Everything, absolutely everything is delicious, and arrived well packaged. Oh - and I almost forgot - the tres leches! Absolutely top notch. The food is amazing, the sangria is not watered down and the service is exceptional!The most recent visit was to celebrate a group of birthdays. They gave us one of the rooms which fit about 25 of us. Even though we were separated from main dining room, servers were still very attentive. The portions are larger so they are shareable. I had skirt steak that came with veggies and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered. We brought our own cakes and they sliced and served for us. We never felt rushed and stayed for over 3 hours. We got there at 3pm on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. I will continue coming and highly recommend!“

There was a grilled octopus plate served with a salad as an appetizer and it was delicious! Most of the entrees were seasoned okay but nothing stood out. One of our 5 dishes came out wrong but corrected within 5 minutes. The original dish was meant for another table and we got the correct plate quickly. Noise level was normal for a Friday night. Very nice ambiance - decor wise. Would return.“

My favorite dish is the stewed chicken w/veggie rice. The small take out box is only $7 but can easily feed 2. The large is (I believe) $9, and both come with a handful of yummy plantanos. The chicken literally melts in ur mouth and they use just the right amount of seasoning so its not too spicy for those of us who don't like spicy food!!
