“So glad someone recommended this place to my wife and I! It's in a strip mall but the inside is well-decorated and very clean. The menu is interesting, with both spicy and non-spicy options. We had one of the evening's specials, shrimp dumplings, as well as the Salmon Prik and the Drunken Noodles. All three were excellent. Also ordered the appetizer sampler - good but not up to the high standard of the other dishes. Ended the meal with fried bananas and vanilla ice cream. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We brought our own wine (love BYOB's) and ended the meal well below $100. Go support this place!“

“I wish I knew this place sooner! The owner was so inviting and amazing . I ordered 2 items, I came into the store not only was she nice, but she also made FRESH chive dumplings for me to eat while I was watiting for my food. Not only that she got me a free dessert to try and a free thai tea for my wife to try as well. NOT giving five stars because of the free food etc. But the food and drinks were actually AMAZING. I'm a vietnamese/ malaysian and Thai food reminds me of home. It's hard to find good thai food here in new jersey. Now that I've tried this place out I will be back for more! The location can be easily missed, if not paying atttention but please you guys gotta give it a try TRUST!“

“Tee,the owner was so nice to us. It was my wife's birthday and she gave her some ice cream and pastry. Also to my son and I. The ice cream had a coating to it so I don't know the proper name. The Tad Phai was excellent along with the veggie and pork rolls. Next time we are trying the red and green Curry. This is a must visit. Don't let the size of the restaurant fool you.“

“My wife and I just had the best Thai food we've had in a long time.

Started with two appetizers. The Thai Crepe was a thin thai crepe, lightly crisp rice flour with incredibly seasoned veggies and tofu with a condiment of pickled diced radish and carrot. The flavors and textures were perfect together. The veggie dumplings looked like little flowers. The dough was thin and light, seasoned perfectly.

That's a running theme here--perfect aromatic seasoning.

Entrees were equally delicious. Massaman curry with shrimp. Veggies saturated in the sauce with a generous portion of shrimp. It had just a hint of hot to blend exactly right with the sweetness. So good. Veggie tofu pad Thai was great. Noodles had the perfect bite and, once again, seasoned beautifully.

We also got a pot of green tea which complemented the meal perfectly. Joe, our server, was super attentive and friendly and kept our pot filled. His wife was doing the cooking--and what a great cook she is!

Got dessert to go: mango sticky rice. Joe said we'd love it because the mango was so sweet. He was right! And the rice had the perfect bite.

“There is not a more satisfying mall food court pad thai than the dish my partner and I order from Thai Max. We've tried their pad thai, egg rolls, coconut shrimp, mixed vegetables, spicy chicken, bbq chicken, and fried banana and it's all been fresh, hot, and delicious.

Is it the same Thai food that one could expect from a standalone restaurant? Absolutely not!

But if there's a craving for cheap, fast, fresh, and hot Thai food... Thai Max will satisfy.

Portion sizes are absolutely huge. The pad thai is always made fresh on the wok while we wait.

We've been to Thai Max at various times of the year - the busy Christmas season, a slow Monday morning in the springtime - and regardless of the level of traffic at the mall, Thai Max is solidly consistent.“

“Really yummy! Ideal Chinese takeout. I got the steamed dumplings and the sesame chicken combo and everything was delicious and well seasoned! Very flavorful. The dumplings were homemade and you could tell from the thick chewy skin. The egg roll was quite oily but everything else was outstanding so that was fine. Special shout out to the dumpling sauce - I want to know how to make it!! So delicious. Take your own sauces too which I love. I always want extra. “we ordered delivery from Asian chef tonight, and when I got my order (bento box with salmon teriyaki, rice, shrimp shumai, and cucumber avocado roll). Instead of salmon, I ended up receiving shrimp teriyaki. I wasn’t going to call but I figured I may as well just let them know- the employee who answered the phone was so nice and apologetic, and immediately offered to bring me the correct protein that I ordered. I accepted the offer and asked if he wanted me to return the untouched shrimp order, but he said to keep it! then, I expected them to just deliver me the salmon to add to the meal, but they brought me an ENTIRE other bento box with the salmon! I was so shocked! not only that, but they also returned the cash to make up the difference in price on the order. they did NOT have to do that, but it shows so much about their restaurant. we also ordered some sushi, drunken noodles, and a seaweed salad and it did not disappoint at all. we will be ordering from asian chef again soon thanks to their kindness, and their excellent quality food!!“

“Been living in SJ for 10+ years and this is still my go to Chinese takeout and dine in. The comments here are so mean and after reviewing some recent ones… well Covid have happened it doesn’t help that the country itself is filled with mostly ungrateful Americans. The food is still good, there has been some changes but I never had problems with this place. Probably because I am also respectful and you receive what you give I guess. The place can use some upgrades and upkeeping but before you hurt a business, ensure you reflect how you are treating workers. It is hard out here and businesses themselves are just trying to thrive and make it back from Covid years.
