“We have eaten there several times and it is always delicious. We want to give special appreciation to Rachel, your manager, for her special caring and sensitivity to our needs. In today's world, where one struggles, especially if old like we are, to speak to a live human being, when you are able to converse with a person who is actually listening to what you said, this is rare. Add to that delicious fresh food and you have a winner. Tonight we had fresh large shrimps with a most delicious home made cocktail sauce. Fresh crab cakes with a fabulous remoulade, and a chocolate mousse to die for as dessert. We ordered too much and have to save some for tomorrow. We live in town, and are happy to see the names of so many out of town visitors appreciate Chesapeake Tavern.“

The comments here are so mean and after reviewing some recent ones… well Covid have happened it doesn’t help that the country itself is filled with mostly ungrateful Americans. The food is still good, there has been some changes but I never had problems with this place. Probably because I am also respectful and you receive what you give I guess. The place can use some upgrades and upkeeping but before you hurt a business, ensure you reflect how you are treating workers. It is hard out here and businesses themselves are just trying to thrive and make it back from Covid years.

“Got married there over a decade ago and have been coming out ever since. Many restaurants are good businesses and in addition to this, Demos and Jimmie show their passion for what they create. My fav is shrimp and scallops over pasta in a great cream sauce… steaks are great and Demos is a wizard in the bakery.“

“Huge shout out to the Farmhouse in Hampton, NJ! We were able to plan a wedding in only 3.5 months because of this dedicated and talented team. The entire experience was easy, fun, and professional. “We held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Dora’s and overall had a great experience! We were already frequent guests and knew this would be the perfect venue. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone especially loved the Dora Ravioli. They allowed us to rent the entire restaurant for our party and were very accommodating, arranging the tables as we requested and placing our menus out for us. It was BYOB and they even allowed us to drop off our wine prior to the event, which was very helpful. Thank you Dora’s for a memorable night!“

“My girlfriend was under the weather so I surprised her with some Wonton Soup And she loves Crab Rangoon so I got her an order of that as well. I also had some Wonton Soup. The Wonton Soup was delicious and she absolutely loved her Crab Rangoon. She said it was the perfect ratio of filling to dough and they were fried perfectly.
The lady at the front was very nice and efficient. I was in and out.

“The lobster tempura appetizer from the bar menu was excellent, as was the lobster and avocado salad from the regular menu. We had the lobster tail entree, along with the Beef Wellington. The lobster was tender and sweet, the Wellington perfectly done and benefited from chicken liver mousse along with the mushroom duxelles, but the sauce, which was supposed to be a demi-glace, was more of a traditional brown gravy. The pastry was also a bit soggy at the bottom. But overall, an excellent meal. We plan to return.“
