“The food is good but the bakery food is REALLY good.I order flautas, gringas, burritos and enchiladas from here regularly - but it's the scones and other treats that keep me coming back.TRY THE SCONES they're amazing (and seriously underpriced).“

“The food was delicious but today I went to eat with my parents and I ordered some quesadillas and my brother ordered steak tacos. The order arrived quickly but my parents' orders took 1 hour and we had already finished eating. They took a long time until they left hunger to my parents and the benches sway a lot.“

“Tucked away in a "strip mall" building masquerading as an old train station depot, is this little gem of a Mexican restaurant. The decor is kitschy and delightfully semi-tacky, with a little Spanish goods grocery in the back. I had a chicken quesadilla, and I have to say it was one of the better ones I've had in the Northeast. The chicken itself was flavorful and grilled, and the tortilla was crispy and not soggy. When they bring the chips and salsa, there are two varieties: one milder and the other rather spicy, a good combination. For dessert we tried the Tres Leches cake, which was tasty and not overly sugary. The prices were commensurate with other similar restaurants in the area. All in all, I would recommend trying this restaurant. I think you'll be happy you did.“

“I've walked past this restaurant many times, didn't even think to try it. My wife brought me in, I'm so glad that we went. Inside is a cute quaint restaurant with about 7 to 8 tables. We ordered the birria tacos, gorditas and the soupa de res. It was all absolutely delicious. The flavors to the ingredients, everything is of good quality. The staff is friendly, service is good. We'll be back very soon“

“I'm from Los Angeles, and I miss Mexican food a lot. The only decent Mexican food I've had in the New Jersey/NY area was in Sunset Park Brooklyn. Until now. At Xochitl Tortilleria I had a pork torta that was yummy. My wife liked her bisteca taco (she also likes the carne asada tacos at Los Tacos No. 1 in NY). We agreed that both the refritos and the rice were excellent (the refritos were very smooth but tasted just right). The red salsa is very smokey and hot; we liked the green better, but it's still not like the salsa you'd get in L.A. The women at the counter were nice, though they don't seem used to speaking English. It took a while for our order to be ready, but they made it just as I asked (no cilantro on the torta but cilantro on the tacos). I look forward to trying the barbacoa. The tortillas are very good (that's how I found this place--a Mexican neighbor recommended the tortillas). They also have chips/dorados/ tostaditos. They had several good ripe avocados which is handy if you want more avocado or if you're making guacamole. I ordered to go (carry out) but next time will eat there so the food is fresher--there are several formica tables with benches.“

“Vine a esta taqueria a probar los tacos porque vi que tenía buenos reviews. Así que vine a probar. Llame por teléfono para ir a retirar la comida. A lo que llegue el lugar es chiquito pero muy acogedor. Sentí cómo si estuviera visitando an mis abuelitos, así de acogedor es el restaurante. Por $16 te llevas 4 tacos bien Ricos. Espero volver pronto. :3“
