Service was fast, live music was nice, yet the food could have been better: the frying of the calamari didn’t stick to it and detached itself, the fish cakes tasted more of mashed potatoes than fish and the seafood lasagna made of frozen product and tasteless cheddar lacked flavour. Overall, the price was too high for the quantity/quality. I guess this is the price to pay for seafood in a tourist place where there are so few restaurants.
Our first time in Bonavista. This little gem of a restaurant is top tier. No reservations required, every item on the menu is tempting and appealing to the palate. We shared the fish cake appetizer and my husband and I shared the pan seared salmon with salad. Live entertainment while watching the sunset. Excellent service and all round great experience. Highly recommend!
Skipper’s Restaurant is a must-visit when in Bonavista! There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, which is always a good sign, and it was well worth it.
