The exterior, entrance and interior restaurant decor was eclectic and reminiscent of British/Irish pub style ambiance, with wooden and stone flooring, tables and booths and stained glass decor plus Tiffany style lamps. The restaurant was small, with booths and tables fairly close together but not so much as to feel crowded or uncomfortable. There was often a cold draft whenever patrons entered or exited due to the small size of the restaurant. The decor and lighting was subdued, ambiant and lovely; however, the music, although pleasant enough, was rather loud and at times made it difficult to hear my husband speaking which was somewhat annoying and uncomfortable. I had the Belgian Waffle (berry and banana) with bacon, a side of hashbrowns and a side of scrambled eggs and my husband had the Newfounland Benedict: 2 fish cakes, two eggs benedict, smoked salmon covered in hollandaise sauce with hashbrowns. For all I absaloutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant, the initial service was very slow (to take our order). The first waitress seemed rather irritated and unpleasant but the second waitress was very pleasant and accomodating. The food arrived more quickly than expected as well. I really, really hate giving these lovely little, local restaurants any negativity at all so I always focus on the positive first but the meal I had was very disappointing. The hashbrowns were really large potato cubes (bigger than I usually see as a hashbrown) and I'm unsure if they were cooked from frozen or not but they were not bad but not great. There was a large quantity though. The scrambled eggs were okay. There was no bacon at all (although it was supposed to come with my waffle). Unfortunately, the waffle itself was the most disappointing. It was very dry and crumbley (like it had been frozen and reheated in a microwave) and the berries were reheated from frozen and made the middle of the waffle soggy. The bananas were fresh. There was only cheap pancake (corn) syrup - no actual maple syrup - as well. My husbands meal, however was fantastic and delicious, aside from the hashbrowns. He also very much enjoyed the coffee. All in all, I may return again, but I will not go for the waffles, pancakes, French toast or toutons. I will most likely try a sandwich on my next visit. Hopefully it will be a better food experience.
It’s not because of the food, it was the service. We were seated and brought water then we waited while our server spent all her time talking to people at a nearby table. I counted 6 times that she went to that one table but not once did she come to our table to see if we were ready to order. After what seemed like forever she came back and took our order. After we had eaten we waited again for her to come with our bill. Not once did she come back and see if we were enjoying our meal or if there was anything else that we needed. We even had to ask another server for a takeout container. After waiting and watching our server attending to the previously mentioned table several times we had to ask for our bill. She brought the bill and instead of waiting for the payment she went back to the said table so after the payment was made we had to take the receipt from the machine and leave the machine on the table for her. All the other servers seen to be attending to their tables very efficiently. We all enjoyed our food but I think our service could have been much better.
Bagels were great, however we went back for dinner one night for the lobster….. the lobster was cold and rubbery…is this what lobster usually tastes like?
Had brunch there today. Not only was the food delicious but the server was fantastic!! So cheerful and an absolute delight!

I came in for a late breakfast and was in for a treat. The atmosphere is phenomenal the food is great and very friendly service. The hash browns are some the best I’ve ever had and the touton breakfast was a wonderful local treat. Would highly recommend stopping in to enjoy the cozy booths and the delicious food.

We went here for brunch a few months ago, we ordered food and while we were waiting for the food to be brought to us we saw a mouse under one of the tables in front of us, when we told the waiter about it he was very normal and said here is downtown And mice are found everywhere. This is while we have gone to a restaurant and want to eat, do you think it is normal to see a mouse in the environment where food is served??!!!
