Appetizer was pretty good - Tenderloin and scallops. Steak a little overdone, but tasty. Sushi was dry. Rice was dry / starchy and the tuna / salmon almost tasted freezer burned. Tried to enjoy but had to send it back. That said, the server was great and did take that off my bill. Every place has an off night and I will try again, but probably the steak next time. Meals my friends had looked great.
The place is awesome. The duck was phenomenal. Been here a few times the menu doesn't change much but also doesn't disappoint. Their food is plated well with good portions and flavor combinations. Of all the restraunts in downtown St. John's this is my personal

This was our first time visiting Basho. We frequently visit St. John’s and very much enjoy the restaurant/food scene in town. This was one of my favourite meals I’ve had ever! The filet mignon was the best steak I’ve had in St. John’s hands down, the flavour was amazing and it was cooked perfectly.
