I’m vegetarian and there weren’t many options on the menu, so the kitchen prepared a custom dinner for me that was delicious!

Terre is a beautiful restaurant. The service was wonderful. I still can't get over how good the food was. I'm still talking about it the day after. We got the 'let the kitchen cook for you' option and the staff were so accommodating to some dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend Terre to anyone who wants a unique and tasty dining experience.

Our waiter, Ivan was very attentive and made good suggestions regarding wine and food. The food was delicious and highly recommend beer can in a chicken which was enough for four of us. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

One of the best restaurants in the city of St. John's, NL. The staff are very attentive and pleasant, food was to die for, and the atmosphere was fantastic - A fresh Christmas Tree greeted us at entrance to the restaurant, so there was a smell of Christmas in the air, we were seated overlooking St. John's Harbour, with all the lights of the boats and the harbour twinkling over the water - just magical. We both ordered an appetizer but shared the beer can chicken - which was a lot of food. It came with fries and salad, and we still had to get a take away container for the chicken.
Parking: Parking was easy, just drive to the back entrance, you get a ticket upon entry which you bring to the check in counter and they will program it for in and out service until you leave. It only cost $15.00 to have your vehicle secured inside.

First time visiting. Atmosphere is nice and service was attentive and good. Food was for the most part interesting and well prepared except for Guinea fowl (extremely fatty and difficult to eat) and cheese that was moldy - but was replaced. Drinks were very good.

The Terre family have created the finest dining experience in St. John's, with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients, some of which are grown on site in the loveliest of patio gardens, right beside the St. John's harbour. It wouldn't get better than that, except it's all served with such care, knowledge and enthusiasm. Thank you Matthew Swift and crew. I can't recommend Terre highly enough.

Terre is one of my favourite St. John's dining experiences. I've never been disappointed with the food or the staff in any way, the interior is beautifully decorated and comfortable, and they always manage to cook seafood flawlessly when I order it. Their winter cocktail selection this year in particular is perfectly appointed to showcase local products and seasonal flavours.

TLDR: Greatest dining experience I may have ever had, if you go here do yourself a favor and get the “Let the Kitchen Cook for You”
To say that this was one of the most truly enjoyable dining experiences would be an understatement. Every aspect of this culinary experience managed to impress me more than the last, from the service, to the atmosphere, to of course, the beyond incredible food. I had the absolute privilege of enjoying the “Let the Kitchen Cook for You” meal service, and it did exceeded expectations in every way. Upon sitting down I instantly noticed that “Is this It?” By the Strokes was playing, and as a huhe fan of the album, the night was off to a great start, and the vibes were immaculate as they were playing it all the way through. Starting with an incredible fresh and delicious bread that had some of the better butter I have ever had, I knew I had made the right selection. The first appetizer plate then solidified that choice with some of the most creative, fresh, and delicious seafood appetizers I could have imagined. Perfectly portioned to give me a taste of three marvelous fine dining plates, I was able to try a variety of different items (I honestly could not tell you exactly what they were, and would hate to misrepresent and do a disservice to the chef by messing up). After completing the first round, I then was greeted with three more appetizer plates that only continued to blow me away. Fresh and land based with salad and poultry, it was an entirely different experience but nonetheless amazing. At this point, I was informed that the FIRST course had only now completed. I was already in awe. The next course was the seafood entree, which was some of the smoothest and best cooked fish I have had. The sides and puree it was accompanied by only elevated the incredible flavor and texture. Beyond impressed and after leaving not a crumb (through the whole meal so far), I then received the meat entree. Somehow the courses just managed to continuously impress me and give me a new appreciation for attention to detail and craftsmanship. Finally, after enjoying the third course, the absolute cherry on top was the delicious and creative dessert, that had some of the most vivid grape flavors with two different jams/purees in a medium I had never seen. All these courses coupled with exceptional bartending and service, while having great music playing solidified what was the best culinary experience of my life. Absolutely full, I discovered a pool table in the lobby right outside the restaurant, and enjoyed the rest of my night playing. I cannot thank the chef and restaurant staff enough for this opportunity and hope that I one day can return so I can relive this marvelous experience with whatever creative new dishes Terre decides to offer. Even weeks later this night still lives rent free in my head and I have absolutely 0 issues with that. Do yourself a favor and go here.

i had the best french influenced restaurant at terre. i love the fresh and locally sourced ingredients, its balanced and elegant dishes (turnip and cod), and its ambience. the liquor shelf is beautiful. the fried apple pie had more of a beignet texture than the traditional new england baked apple pie and was definitely an indulgence. the appletini was crispy and light and complemented the dessert well. the people working there are lovely too.
