“A restaurant operated by an older couple. Extremely good service but very limited seating inside. Takeout is a good option. The hours are not exactly those written on happy cow (opens at 12:30 today for example). The food is really great and full of veggies for a reasonable price. Soup and sauces are offered on the house. The host also offers a clementine ( or a tangerine, not sure) for dessert. Great place to visit if in Newfoundland.“

“Great atmosphere! The decor was calming and fun. Many amazing menu choices. When we were there on a Friday night, it looked like there was only 2 people working but it was a full house of customers. So our food took a long time to come out. However, it was well worth the wait - everything was delicious. The bread is homemade on site and should not be missed!“

“Food was good but get away from the fusion or “American” aspect. Serve authentic Afghan food, that is my opinion, but nevertheless the food was good.
Service was good as well; we were well taken care of by our server.
Lovely atmosphere - I recall sitting on the pillows the first time I was there. It was a bit difficult since my body doesn’t bend lol but a great experience. This time we had chairs and still ambience with the belly dancer as entertainment.“
“Amazing food and friendly staff. Worth checking out!“

“Enjoyed lunch here with a group of friends. We all got the breaded chicken cutlet on a pretzel roll which was amazing and a substantial size for a really reasonable price! Easily shareable as they cut the sandwich in half and customizable with a variety of sauces and toppings, including pickles, carrots and olives on the side. Super delicious and very fresh tasting! Cute setup with the deli on one side and the tables and chairs on the other, and lots of photos on the walls of European food and market scenes. We are definitely planning to return here!“

“A great spot in downtown St Johns for great food in a relaxed setting.
Oysters and accompanying sauces were all excellent. A Chablis on the wine menu would be a good pairing option, even if only by the bottle.
Oh, and the cocktails are fantastic!!!
Look forward to visiting again when I get back to St Johns.“

“Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner last night! We could see how busy the staff were with non stop take outs but they were still very attentive to our table. Food was as great as always!“

“While visiting St. John's, many locals had recommended that we stop at the Rocket Bakery for wonderful coffee and their famous fish cakes. Both the coffee and the fish cakes did not disappoint!
This is a charming local café on the pedestrian only stretch of Water Street. It is perfectly located for a quick snack or simply a great coffee.
The baristas were extremely friendly, informative, and crafted a perfect Cortado. Their beans came from Phil and Sebastian coffee roasters which the barista informed me was a roastery out of Alberta. The Cortado was rich, chocolaty and perfectly balanced. It paired surprisingly well with the fish cake!
This is an absolute must stop if you are on water Street, looking for a great cup of coffee and a true Newfoundland staple.“

“Soo good!
Service was friendly. Menu had plenty of appealing items and included some great vegan options.
I ordered vegan butter chicken meal which came with rice, naan bread and samosa . It was a little pricey but for the portion of food you get, it's worth
it. The meal was soo tasty and flavor and had a spicy 'kick' which is what I expect for this type of meal.
Recommend and will go again.“
