“Came here with local friends and loved it. It’s our first time in St. John’s, and Peaceful Loft’s vegan menu was a perfect change of pace from some of the heavier NL dishes we’ve been trying. It’s a small family operation— the gentleman who served us and his wife in the kitchen own the place— so stop by when you’re not in a rush.
As soon as we were sat, we were given lovely squash soup, two house-made sauces, a tasty chunky topping of TVP and veggies, and bottomless green tea, and THEN the menu to order. The main meal took a little while— again, one-chef kitchen— and the owner kept apologizing, but we were a-okay. We’d already had a whole appetizer! He also gave us mandarin oranges while we waited, and when I told him how excited I was to have some fresh fruit, he gave me two more. 😁 The menu items were all generous portions with plenty of veggies. They made very sure our friend with a nut allergy was taken care of as well.
It was such a great meal, super affordable, with warm and friendly service, and we might never have known if our friends hadn’t suggested it. Definitely recommended!“

“First day in St.John's. As vegetarians, we were so happy to find such a cute & cozy spot with such healthy and flavourful food options.

We had the soup of the day - butternut squash. Perfect on a cool October afternoon. We then had the Enchilada. Stuffed full of flavour. My only ask would have been to have an authentic, fresh, spicy salsa option.

The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. The price for some of the add-on options are a little high, but otherwise the actual item prices are very reasonable.“

“I am ashamed to say that this was the first time I visited this store despite having lived in St. John's for a couple of decades. The staff are fun and friendly, and happy to share their opinions when asked. I didn't leave the store with everything I wanted to buy, since I had walked - the special edition Le Creuset set with the gold handles will have to wait. I did get some bagels (really good) some scones (excellent) and a baguette that was outstanding. The store is dangerously close to my house. I fear I may accidentally make this my destination when I go for a walk... No matter, though, the prices are very reasonable for fresh, locally made, and, most importantly, delicious baked goods.“

“I tried the fish cakes in a few other places before stopping at Rocket Bakery. These fish cakes were full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. I had the first one plain and the second one I dipped the fish cake in their special sauce.... It changed my life. Wow!“

“For many customers, this is a take-out place. But I love to eat in the restaurant because it has an authentic vibe to it. While dining, we can listen to popular songs from Bollywood movies, as well as Bangali and Arabic music. Everyone agrees that the food is wonderful... I just wish more people would take the time to dine in!“
