About Fei's Cafe

Fei's Cafe comes highly recommended by locals and has become a hidden gem in Albuquerque. The decor remains charming with lights and artwork. However, the restaurant is temporarily closed for now due to recent changes in ownership. The new owner has transformed the place into the best Szechuan restaurant in town, particularly for those who enjoy spicy food. The menu looks simple, but every dish is worth trying, with daily specials available—customers are encouraged to ask the chef for them.

The sushi is still high quality and generously portioned, especially during the 50% off special. The pork meat bun remains a standout, juicy and well-seasoned, while the cold sesame noodles and fried tofu continue to receive high praise. Recent reviews highlight the amazing, flavorful food and exceptional service, although the restaurant is currently understaffed with only one chef cooking, which may lead to longer wait times.

The chef, who previously worked in a restaurant in Chongqing, is known for his super authentic cooking. Recommended dishes include Chongqing style boiled duck curd, boiled fish fillet with chili sauce, and Singapore Shrimp, which has been described as absolutely fantastic with generous portions. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making the dining experience enjoyable despite the staffing challenges. Fei's Cafe offers delicious, affordable food with a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, making it a must-visit for those seeking authentic Chinese flavors. If customers need to use the restroom, they will find it shared with the sushi restaurant next door.

TAIWANESE STREET FOOD! The original version of Fei's was totally vegan so she really knows how to cook vegan food. Fresh house made soy milk and tofu. Great green chili steamed buns. Inquire with the owner about a limited selection of incredible Taiwanese vegan products like soy jerky, vegan chicken, tofu skin and other vegan meats.

Pros: Mostly vegan, Authentic taiwanese food, Stinky tofu! 😃😜

Cons: Small menu, Not a lot of greens, Stinky tofu! 🙂😜

I went to Fei’s Café to have lunch a couple of weeks ago. There was a round pendant hanging on the front door. As I walked in, the motion of the door caused the pendant to swing back and forth with a lot of force. The pendant hit me in the mouth, severely bruising to one of my front teeth. I showed Fei what happened and, because I was injured on her property, I asked for her insurance information. She refused to give it to me and said her insurance would not pay for anything....read full review
