Its an amazing place. It doesn't look so big from the outside but inside is large with many many displays. So full of many different things. Great information. I will stop by everything I pass through.

Excellent collection of items on display. My only big complaint was the Native American displays being dated and not even falling close to the spirit of NAGPRA

My husband and I went on the weekend, such wonderful staff and the local museum is extraordinary with all the different things you’re able to view. It’s free but as a visitor I highly recommend donating because of how well everything is kept and you can tell the town of Deming is proud of their history!

A fascinating museum. Their collection of native American pottery is one of the best I've seen. And it's free and convenient to I10

We are members of the Gardner and Pelayo families. This was quite a treat for us as the museum holds exhibits of our Uncle's Jack Gardner and Lee Pelayo. It was great to revisit our family roots. Felt so much pride!

The Deming Luna Mimbres Museum is a true treasure for anyone who appreciates the history and culture of the American Southwest 🏜️. Located in the heart of Deming, this museum offers a deep dive into the region’s past — from the ancient cultures of Native peoples, including the Mimbres, to life on the frontier during colonial times and up through the 1970s 🏛️. A special highlight is the exhibit dedicated to Fort Cody — a key stronghold and protection for settlers during the harsh times of taming these lands ⚔️.

Inside, you’ll find unique artifacts ranging from tools and clothing to photographs that tell stories of everyday life from those years 📸. Each exhibit seems to come alive, sharing tales of the resilience and endurance of the people who built their lives on the frontier, overcoming hardships and creating a lasting legacy 🛖.

The collection covers a wide array of topics: archaeology, ethnography, early settlement history, and daily life, making the museum a truly vibrant and educational place for anyone wanting to grasp the spirit and character of this corner of America 🇺🇸. The attention to detail in preserving and presenting history is impressive, allowing visitors to literally touch the past ✨.

For history lovers wanting to feel the atmosphere of the true Old West, this museum is a real gem 🌵. I highly recommend it to anyone interested not only in major historical events but also in the everyday lives of those who left their mark on this land 🕰️.
