Perhaps I’m to old school. I am a New Mexico native now living out of state. I have eate at Teofilos off and on for several years in the past, but it’s been 4 yrs since I visited last. Love the atmosphere! Artfully done. I was looking forward to a great meal. I’m saddened to say, I was greatly disappointed. The food was divine. The service was good.
Service was great. Chili replenish, flat enchilada, sopapillas, coconut cake were all great. The place was recommended by a friend, and it was spot on. Now, on my list when in the area.

Based on the reviews, Teofilo's Restaurante serves delicious NM favorite food and authentic food. The staff are incredibly nice, laid back, attentive, and served with big smiles. They love working there, and the music is not too loud. The food is incredible, with options like red chile spinach enchiladas (quelites) with refried beans, Chicken Hortensia, flat top burger, and fajitas. Desserts include Natillas and Toledo cake. However, some reviews note issues. The fajitas did not come in a fajita skillet and had no sauteed veggies, though the meat was very tasty. There have been complaints about avocado stickers, a pit in the avocado dip, and rocks in the beans. Another issue is being seated and ignored for 45 minutes. While some find it a bit less high quality now, others call it superb and impressive.
