We went in the off season, so we could walk right in and were seated by a fire roaring in a big kiva stove. One of us was blown away by the Brussels sprouts (I can't be near them in any form) and delighted by the Chilean sea bass (with a wild mushroom risotto and sun-dried tomato beurre blanc. I had a wedge salad (I may have pedestrian tastes) with a bleu cheese dressing that was made special by a touch of tarragon. My beef ribeye with a jalapeño demi-glace was beautifully...
Our server was terrible. When we needed to send a drink back, he took it personally and avoided our table the rest of the night. We were not the only table dining that had problems with him. The supervisor took over our table and was wonderful. He apologized and made our experience great. With so many fantastic restaurants in Sante Fe, service is important; it leaves a mark.
We enjoyed visiting Agave for New Years Eve dinner. Unfortunately we experienced a prefix meal selection rather than the normal offerings. Overall our server was good, but things seemed rushed and impersonal. Our surf and turf were adequate portions however steak temp was not asked when the order was taken and one of our meals arrived with an overcooked filet. Lengthy time waiting for a fresh meal disrupted our meal and made things awkward. We enjoyed the Conch Chowder and Endive...
