A truly wonderful restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly--one of the owners even showed us a picture of her grandmother who provided the restaurant's original recipes. It was busy on a Tuesday night, but we quickly got a table when we arrived at 6. The food was superb.
We chose this place wanting more interior Mexican food and while it was good, it wasn’t great.
+ Elote and Guac were a decent start
+ Frozen Margs were OK and a decent value at $9.5
+ Crab enchiladas were again decent
- Stuffed Pepper sauce was bitter and overwhelmed the stuffing
This place caters to tourists and while the service is very friendly, I wouldn’t recommend dinner here unless you like average food.
We had a delicious dinner with friends. We started with roasted corn and for my entree I had a roasted Pablano pepper stuffed with Angus beef, apricots, pomegranates and nut covered in a Jemez cream sauce. It was fabulous!
From chips and salsa to tres leches cake, every bite is excellent and elevated.
Was driving through Santa Fe with my mom who is gluten free.. found casa Chimayo on a Google search. The food at this family owned restaurant is amazing and the staff is really nice
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Bella’s Casa Chimayo . The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent and the food was the best. 💯 % recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The BEST Mexican food we have ever had. Friendly staff, good drinks. What’s not to like?
Eventive dishes! The Chef and staff are amazing! They want you to be happy & taste their dishes. Too many choices but go until you’ve tried them all.
Food was authentic and full of flavor. Very friendly staff.
Great food and service in a historic, quaint building.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was AMAZING! My husband got the duck mole and I got the crab enchiladas, as recommend by our waiter. Everyone was so kind and the atmosphere was cozy. We considered a different restaurant but I’m so glad we came here! If we lived in the area this would be our go to spot! You also won’t go wrong with the table side guacamole.
Good news first: the food here is among the best southwestern any of our party of four have had. My conchinita pibil enchiladas (and the pibil entree serving) were superb, surrounded by perfectly spiced beans and rice. Flavors head & shoulders above the average. Desserts are equally superb. Now the bad news. Margaritas are pre-mixed and too sweet, about the level of a Mexican chain. Service was well-intentioned but poor. Wrong dishes arrived twice, missing items had to be requested three times, and plates were removed while people were still eating. For the price, these deficiencies are hard to forgive. But for the quality, we'll probably give it another chance.
Was a busy night when we arrived but we thoroughly enjoy our experience. We all ate everything on our plates. The sopapillas were the most fluffy ones I've eaten anywhere! The owners, Benina and Joaquin truly make you feel like family.
The waiter should have come around a few more times.
Why this place isn't rated higher is beyond me. This is the 2nd time that my husband and I have traveled to Santa Fe from Austin and Casa Chimayo didn't disappoint. I had a Chilean Sea Bass that was absolutely divine. Mango salsa and rice (out of their quinoa) to accompany. I highly recommend.
