Last Saturday night we celebrated my husband's 80th birthday. I called and spoke with Ricardo Gutierrez about our wish to make this a memorable event. He could not have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with, sending me sample menus and tolerating my changes and many questions. We held a private event at Vanessie--Dinner followed by drinks and dancing with a DJ. 100 persons. The management and staff set everything up beautifully in advance with black table cloths and flower vases. Everyone ordered off the fixed price or standard menu and all the dishes were fantastic, wow were people highly pleased! Friendly staff with good service. The art is amazing and well worth the visit. Intimate bar/dining area. Works well for a group. Menu is limited. A few more items would be nice. Most are what I'd call bar food but hey this is a bar, of sorts.
