I absolutely LOVE parasol, the reason for the 3 stars is because I ordered a #4 chips and salsa. This is supposed to serve 4 people, I got 4 oz of the red salsa and a small/ medium brown bag of chips. Also, in my order I had 1 veggie taco no guac. I paid $26 and some change, this is absolutely ridiculous. This is not a gourmet restaurant. This is a local place, for locals but these are not local prices.

Flavor: 5 stars. Construction: 2 stars. If the burritos had more protein I would give 5 stars. The Pojoaque location serves the burritos way better, more balanced and with structure. Here it feels like a tortilla stuffed with refried beans and a bit of protein, it’s even hard to hold 😮💨

No seating, and portion sizes are pretty damn small. Where's all the money going to if not the food? $11 for a burrito shorter than a fork. Not bad steak, pretty bland tamales.
We won't be back. I'd save your money and head down the block to Baja.

A perfect example of how the good can be great. A wonderful combination of unfussy neighborhood charm and fantastic recipes and preparation. The lack of fancy only helps to focus on the strength of the flavors. I’d put it up there among my favorite small restaurants in the whole of the US southwest.

Parasol is a staple out of Espanola NM, and one of the newer growing local chains of NM fast casual. Based off an umbrella for the sun, the idea of the original restaurant was to eat outside in good weather under said umbrella. The espanola location as a sit down restaurant called paragua, also good, which has more of the NM Mexican food in an adobe, for rain or snow. Generally the parasol locations have average atmosphere as a result. The food is excellent particularly popular are the chicken tacos/guac, green chile burger, and various burritos. It’s is also one of my favs for quick to find Menudo, albeit there are other options around town so not quite the best imo. Wanna grab lunch and spend some time at a park, snack before golf, etc. parasol is your place.
Parking: This location is off Cerrillos which is rather busy, just be aware when entering the lot to watch out for pedestrians and vehicles
Good chips in salsa, tamales were excellent. The place was very clean, we took a few orders of chips and pints of salsa to go with us.

Placed my order online, which I have done many times, to go through the drive-thru. I ordered chile cheese fries, a shredded beef taco/w guacamole & a Dr Pepper & paid $18.01. I get back to work and there is NO salsa for my taco plus no plastic wear for my chile fries! El Parasol is one of my favorites but really?! For that price to for get such minor things...
