La Reina is a small bar located in a renovated motel called the El Rey Court, on the side of a busy road outside of the Santa Fe city center. It offers old world charm and elegance, with a retro Santa Fe vibe. The drinks pack a large punch, and the variety of handcrafted premium cocktails is worth an exploration. The dry menu is impressive. A specific favorite was the best watermelon drink in the summer. The best mezcal margarita in town and the best mocktail were also served here. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and attentive. Service is fantastic and accommodating. The atmosphere features fire pits and a welcoming ambiance. They often host great small scale music on the weekends. Drinks were a little too pricey considering the area but matched the ambiance. This is a perfect little spot, considered one of the best of Santa Fe, with mountain vibes.
