“VARA is a true treasure! This Spanish winery with a New Mexican twist offers an unforgettable tasting room experience. The wines are exceptional, with a perfect blend of Spanish tradition and New Mexican character, showcasing their deep craftsmanship and passion. The tasting room itself is warm, inviting, and beautifully designed, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a glass or two. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making you feel right at home while guiding you through their incredible selections. VARA is a must-visit for wine lovers and anyone looking to experience the best of Spanish wine in New Mexico“
“Sean was our bartender. He is one of the most creative tenders I've ever met. I went there because it was on the SF Margarita Trail. We got lucky. Sean and I hit it off immediately. Couldn't stop sharing ideas until the bar got busy. I want to nominate Sean for a MacArthur Genius Grant. Brisqey. That is all.“

“Getting to AV was especially a vista pleasure yesterday: The mountains all around were wreathed in clouds and rain while puffy clouds in blue sky were overhead. Maybe Frederick Turner at work... The dinner was a pleasure, too: We didn't eat much, focusing on Shareables and Firsts. Two orders of the Spring Vegetable Tempura, which, as I have praised before, Chef prepared with Japanese skill--a light coating around super fresh asparagus, mushrooms, snap peas, torpedo onions, accompanied by meyer lemon aioli and furikake. We followed the tempura with Hamachi Tartare and Hand-Rolled Ricotta Cavatelli to complete the meal. An espresso tied the bow. BTW, I enjoyed a New Orleans cocktail new on the menu: à la Louisiane from the 1930s of the restaurant of the same name. (two of them!). Alia served us so sweetly and smoothly. One more thing: The artwork in the restaurant changed again recently. We sat beneath a piece that depicted 'primitive' art, assembled from cotton, acrylic, wood, metal, and thread. By Karen Hampton.“

“Service was on slower side of things throughout the meal, but all servers were pretty nice. All of my tapas were pretty delish, and I really liked their Spanish mushroom soup, papatas bravas and and mussels with coconut milk salsa verde: everything was spot on. Their Spanish negroni cocktail was lovely, too. The gateau basque dessert kinda ruined my meal: it seems to have been sitting in the fridge for the day but it was certainly not made fresh and I could hardly taste vanilla bean in it. A lady manager came by and was rather kind to comp it after I declined to try another dessert instead.“
“Delicious pizza and salad. The green chile ranch is a must!“

“I had a wonderful experience at La Mama in Santa Fe! The staff were incredibly patient and kind with our group of disabled travelers and my service dog, which made us feel so welcomed and comfortable.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the spreads were fresh and full of flavor. I also tried one of their natural wines, and it was so good.
This place has heart, great food, and even better hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Santa Fe looking for a cute and healthy spot!“

“Small place, food was excellent and service was friendly and helpful. The ravioli appetizer (would be better if the portion was larger) was really good with a sauce you will want bread to soak it up. The chile sauces are very good. The Chef came to the table talk with us. It's a little pricey, but comparable to other fine dining in Santa Fe. Maybe slightly less“

“Drove all the way up from Albuquerque. Amazing food. The duck is to die for. Desserts blew our minds. Coconut ice cream and kiwi sorbet are on another level. Wine bottle prices are very reasonable. I was in St Helena last week. This place goes head to head with those restaurants. Props to Chef Jose. The man is a genius“

“An upscale, rustic decor with a relaxed, unfussy vibe, Anasazi has a new executive chef, Christian Pontiggia, at the helm.
The three of us shared an inventive Pear Carpaccio-Asian pears, pistachios, cheese, balsamic reduction and mysterious “beads of deliciousness,” which turned out to be encapsulated mango. The delightful Chef appeared at our table when we inquired about the beads and gave us each a condiment cup full of them to take home. They are addicting; such a great little flavor bomb. My friend ate three for dessert. They reminded me of the sensory sensations I experienced when I lunched at L’ Ambroisie in the Place Des Vosges in Paris.
We also shared two entrees: lamb loin and branzino. The best lamb that I have eaten in decades. Cooked to a real medium rare with a superb risotto, asparagus, and rich glaze, it is a substantial dish for one. The branzino was light, but meaty, with an unexpected, but welcome crisp to it, which was repeated in the accompanying crispy shallots, a top a flavorful, but delicate sauce.“
