I had never been here after living in Taos for 10 years, and now I understand why. Contrary to many other reviews, the best part of the meal was actually the owner's attitude. We found his begrudging service and side comments comical and entertaining. If it was combined with delicious food, this place would be a quirky winner.
Unfortunately he has the European attitude without any of the culinary know-how. Food was cafeteria level at best. My "carbonara" tasted like it was covered in cream of mushroom soup. Everything seemed like it came from a box or a freezer. My daughter's lemonade was such a bright yellow/green it looked radioactive.
The patio also had some trash/lemon slices/straws and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite awhile. We sat outside because the inside smelled like cigarette smoke. It's a shame because the location is so wonderful and the patio could be so nice.
Service overall was quite good, the runners/bussers were very friendly.

Took us an hour and half to get food when it wasn't that busy. Food had no flavor at all! Service was good. The young waitress kept our glasses filled while we waited & was friendly. The older gentleman was rude. Atmosphere was very dark.

I come from an Italian family, am a long time chef myself and I cherish food greatly ! We ordered take out pizzas and they were delightful. Sauce was ripe, simple, sweet. So lovely that there are multiple cheese offerings. Adequate toppings for satisfaction. So grateful for a GF crust option AND we would love if you made your own GF crust ! It would be so much more soul nourishing.
Thank you for crafting our dinner tonight ! ??

Unique, quaint Italian restaurant in the old adobe style. The Italian sausage fettuccini was excellent with a superb fresh marinara. The homemade panna cotta was also excellent. Also excellent service. I was not expecting such Italian quality in Taos, New Mexico.

Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options.

Food was really good, service REALLY bad!
I had a spicy dish, and when I didn't get any water refill, I got up and asked for water. BIG MISTAKE! the older gentlemen did fill our water but then said "do you know why I love Europe? Because you pay for water there." then, while walking away, he says "show some respect!" well, maybe you should move to Europe and not have an additude towards paying customers. Will not go back. Terrible experience.
Not worth it.

Wow! I had the minestrone, salad and blackened salmon special. Also the carrot cake..,agghh! Get the carrot cake. ?. The service was absolutely spot on, despite a power outage. I felt like I was dining in my grandma’s kitchen.,,.

The restaurant was fairly busy on a Saturday early evening. We had made reservations. They seem to be very short on staff, so be prepared for slow service. I had chicken linguine, which was good but not exceptional. My friend had the lemon chicken with mashed potatoes, which he liked very much. I had a Peroni. No other drinks or desserts. I probably would not go again.

With 2 servers, service was awesome. Have to wait to be seated, but we need patience and understanding now a days, especially if with no reservation. ?? Food was good.

I think this might be the only Italian place in Taos. Arrived right when they opened and no one else was in the place yet. Greeted by the owner who was wearing a shirt last washed around 2009. He asked if we had a reservation, uh no, but do think you'll be able to accommodate us? I guess it's a standard question. He then seated us and I noticed there were crumbs on my seat. When the last time this place was thoroughly cleaned...who knows. I needed to use the restroom and it was also very dirty. Probably should have just left right then and there. So back to the owner, he is truly a weird person, rude, gives dirty looks to guests and is quite snippy with responses to any questions. He made my daughter feel very uncomfortable. He seemed to be short staffed because he was waiting some tables for awhile and was clearly not happy about it. I can only imagine what it's like to work for this guy. Placed our order and after a short wait the food arrived and it was actually pretty good so I'll give them that. There were other tables around us that seemed to be waiting a long time for their food to arrive by the time we left. So to sum it up, food is pretty decent, but the service here is some of the worst I've experienced. Heads up!
