I do not know where the rate over 4 stars came from. My experience was about 1.5.Atmosphere, 3 stars because it was like a burger stand, nothing fancy, just a few tables and bar seats. Stars for truth.Now Food. Burgers are supposed to be juicy and tasty, not dry patty with overcooked cheese.I do understand that "all burgers are cooked medium well" message, but pressed them to max is just laziness of the cook.Now, the service.We were great, and the menu was presented.We ordered, and by the time the order was ringed, the server said:"There is shift change, and I need to close your bill."My understanding was that someone would take care of us, so naive me give tip.To my disappointment, the new server placed trays in front of us on the bar and walked away. There was no question if we needed anything or if the burgers were ok. Or if we need another beer.What the fork!!!!The girl that took order and finished her shift was still in the area, her shift partner as well, pouring shots for themselves in front of us. Not even thank you or anything.Never again..

This is a great local place. We had some really good wings.
I forgot that restaurants and most things close down "early" in New Mexico. I am glad that I am on the Spanish timeline for food, because The Burger Stand was my last resort for a meal. Boy, was I glad that I am a meal procrastinator. Great burger. An array of beers on tap. Blues music overhead. The staff was warm and welcoming. If I am ever back on Taos, I will seek it out.

Cool burger joint in the heart of the downtown of Toas. There's a counter at the end of the bar where you place your order. They'll give you a number and bring it to your table. I didn't drink beer - but looks like they have a ton of different beers on tap.

Burger was good. “Bartenders / waitstaff is lazy. It’s a poor set up when you walk in and have to figure out on your own how to order your food. Can’t just do it from anywhere at the bar. You tip when you pay but if you want a refill or need anything you have to go to the bar and ask for it.
