“I had the salt cod and pork scraps. I found it a little too salty(hence salt cod), and it was a bit dry. I thought the onions and scraps would’ve been mixed in with the fish, like a scramble, but the fish were big pieces. Maybe that’s how NFLD does it? Colleen was the sever today at lunch and she should’ve had help then. It was very busy and she doesn’t work often due to her health and age. She had to sit at your table to take payments because of her health and she would have a chat with the customers. She’s like a mother and makes sure you have what you want, but it was hard for her. I’ve been there quite a few times and I recommend the corned beef and cabbage, on Thursdays!Parking: Limited parking space, however it’s on a side road so you van park along the secondary street to other businessesWheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp to the one level building“
“Edited: After receiving a quick explanation from the owner on google reviews I wanted to bring the rating back up so as not to bring the overall rating down. Good to know they are actively checking, would have loved to try the place out while we were in town, but might not get the chance again.There wasn’t a soul in the place when we walked in shortly before 8pm. We were excited to go for Thursday wing night and was pretty disappointed to hear that the kitchen was closed. Thursday is advertised as 12$ wings from 5pm to close.The barkeeper apologized but didn’t seem overly friendly.“
“The food was excellent. I really enjoyed the pan fried haddock and everything else was delicious as well. Our server, Amanda, was a total treat. Friendly and personable from the second we walked in, she was a ray of sunshine. The entire staff went out of their way to come up with adventures we could take for the remainder of our trip. Dartmouth will now be remembered fondly by us three ol' girls and hopefully we'll get to visit again. Highly recommend.“
“Minor point, if you saying you are at least A 4 star restaurant, with pricing to reflect that rating. Need to upscale you napkins, brown light weight paper napkins don't cut it! Also, your hostesses need to be aware, letting people cut in , how don't have a reservation, in front of those that where there before them, who had reservations, isn't appropriate.“
“We had the BEST waitress that we ever had at any of the Jack Astor's. We eat their regularly. No waiter or waitress compares to Nana B. She was amazing. We will be back and will obviously ask to sit in her area. Great service and always smiling. See you soon Nana.“
“Every time I go, I never leave disappointed. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable, the food is amazing & the venue is always beautiful this time of year! Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance to shorten your wait time as it's a very popular place especially on Friday & Saturday nights although if you don't, trust me, it's worth the wait Every.Single.Time!!!“
