“We love this restaurant. It's always been our “go to” since our first date when it was “LaPerla” 35 years ago. There was a bit of a noisy table behind us behind us this last evening and we like to go there because it's generally quiet. Things did settle down and the food( which is always great) and Jorge's excellent service more than made up for it!“
“The new Lamb dishes like Rogan Josh and Lamb Chettinad are an absolute delight. Lamb was extremely tender and in decent quantity. Curries were extremely rich and flavorful.I also tried their Chicken Lollipop which is basically crispy fried chicken wings but with a deep flavor of wonderful spices. It came with a mint chutney. I loved it.I will try the Prawn dishes next.“
“Have been getting curry from this place for months now. It's our go to place for curry. The curries are authentic made from scratch, have tried most of the menu but their butter chicken, Afghani Chicken and Kadai Chicken are our favorite's. Also love the Jeera rice! Naan bread is soft and moist, while not made in a tandoori oven it's awesome. Highly recommend but call and place your order to schedule a pick, it takes time to make curries from scratch!“

We moved up from Atlanta just a few years ago, and finding food that has not been turned bland & sweet has been challenging. Makhani has managed to remain true to its ethnic roots, while simultaneously being willing to accommodate more delicate palettes. “Let’s be honest. Plenty of Indian restos in Halifax are sub-par. I am very impressed by the food here and the menu selection. Great classics and some interesting dishes too. The combination of spices was absolutely on point and nothing was too oily. Lamb curry super tender and excellently flavoured. Don’t miss happy hour from 4-6!“

The new Indo Chinese additions were a hit, with dishes like Bombay BHEL and Manchurian Fried Rice impressing us with their flavorful fusion. The Papdi aloo Chat retained its amazing taste, although the chutney had a new twist. The only disappointment was the Bombay Style Pav Bhaji, which fell a bit flat in comparison. “For lunch we went to Potikkis located on Pizza Corner and omg, their Chana masala fries, Chana masala rice bowl and apple fries were so delicious!!! Fast, fresh and full of flavour, Canadian comfort food with an Indian twist which is truly a perfect combo in my eyes. Options are clearly marked on the menu and the staff is just the SWEETEST! “A very cozy restaurant, exactly what I wanted to visit. Courteous and nice service. Delicious food, although it was too spicy, despite the fact that we asked for as little spices as possible, but it is clear that this is still Indian cuisine, and it is primarily about spices. So if you don't like spicy, this might not be for you, but overall, it was very tasty. Desserts, as in the Indian tradition, were sweet and tasty. Clean, tidy. No bright lights and loud music. I believe that this place is definitely suitable for a romantic date and for friendly gatherings. But it should be taken into account that the restaurant is in the center of the city and there will be a problem with car parking. We parked a little further away and had to walk a little, but it didn't spoil our mood and overall impression. We ordered three different main dishes and three different desserts - everything turned out to be equally delicious. For example, the naan was clearly prepared in the restaurant and was very tasty. I recommendDietary restrictions: It was important to us that there was no gluten in the food. Everywhere on the menu it said GF if it was a gluten free dish.Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair for a small child, if that can be considered child friendly then yes :)“
“This is the best Indian food I have had in Halifax. I had the butter chicken and it was spicy and so packed with flavour (seriously the best), and the chana masala that was divine. I will be ordering again ans again to try many different dishes.“
