Food was pretty expensive for Vietnamese and definitely doesn't match up to the quality and authenticity you'll find in other cities in Canada

The best Vietnamese food in Halifax.

Love this place! So much good food for a reasonable price. Owner's a fun guy too. :)

I hate to break the news to the other reviewers - but what is being served at Pho Maxim is NOT Pho. There may be vermecelli rice noodles, and there may be beef, but the broth is way off. The broth of the Pho is what makes the soup. Other Pho standards were absent as well. There was no sambal chili sauce or siracha served alongside. There was also no fresh basil served. While there was bean sprouts, they were old and saggy. Food like this makes me sad.

Food here is amazing! Got the fried spring rolls and Rare beef pho soup and they both had lots of fresh taste! Service was also very good!

One of the best Pad Thai`s in the city. The place was chilly, but the food was hot and yummy. It took a while but was worth it, we would return :)

Had to change my review as this place has gone downhill for me. Pho didn't come with sauces or bean sprouts. Came with slightly brown lettuce pieces. Not impressed :( used to love this place.

First time here. Place was quiet. Cold. The one server was a very nice and friendly guy, but the food took quite a while, considering we only ordered two bowls of beef and rice noodle Pho. The soup is definitely not actual pho soup.

The last time I came here was a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if they changed owners or just their recipe, but the pho is awful now. It's too salty and just tastes like a bland beef broth with no star anise or cinnamon flavor. I was mostly disappointed with what the pho came with- lettuce. Shredded lettuce in pho?! A lot of places in Halifax don't give you basil for some reason, but at least have bean sprouts and cilantro. But lettuce? Nope, never again.
Spring rolls are very good but the medium Pad Thai is not spicy enough. Ask for the hot if you want heat.

Restaurant itself was cold. Service was a little slow. But the food was good.

their takeout was kept very hot for me, even though it took me about a half hour to get there. Food is good, and it was packaged with care so transportation was easy. Recommend!

long lover of this restaurant. even though the owner changed the food is still quite good.
