Been going to Canton Garden for probably ten years now and stopped in again a couple weeks back on a slow Tuesday evening. The salt and pepper squid is still the best in Halifax, honestly better than some places in Toronto, and they got me a table right away even without a reservation. We stopped by Canton Garden on a weeknight around 5:30 with our two kids before they got too cranky, and the staff had us seated and fed fast without ever seeming rushed. The sesame chicken and fried rice disappeared in about ten minutes flat, which is basically our only metric for success these days. Still delicious in 2026! I had a Combo A and a small Hot and Sour Soup. Everything was really good. Will definitely get takeout from here again soon.
