Tried 9 different flavours which were all 10/10. Friendly staff and helpful for food allergy information.
Stopped by today for a cappuccino and some treats. Delicious coffee and their chocolate is amazing!
I built a custom box of chocolates today and purchased their homemade marshmallows covered in chocolate for a friend. I have never been disappointed in their products.
Very good sweets. A bit pricey but the food quality makes up for it.
I’ve been going here for a few years, especially with it being one of the only cafes near NSCAD. I feel like in the past bit the cafe has slowly become more and more elitists and tourists focused, I could definitely see the difference in service between me and the couple in-front of me, that just made me feel a little othered. Also another thing is $6 is already really expensive for a small coffee, I left a 10% tip as always and went back to check my bank statements and the small late with vanilla was $7.14- which is just crazy. And the person making my drink only filled the cup 3/4 full at most. Not sure if I feel like its worth it to go back.
We discovered Rousseau during Covid in our attempt to support local. I will never buy chocolate elsewhere again. Their quality and craftsmanship is unmatched. I appreciate the cute gift boxes for each occasion and season. Our girls in particular love receiving the Easter eggs. They also make great gifts.
I already purchased my Easter chocolate from Rousseau this year. The best chocolate ever. It’s tradition to have my large egg. So beautiful !! And of course I love the sea beings. I love everything about this place. Top notch products & service - every time !!
Their chocolates and treats are amazing—but don’t miss the ice cream sundaes! They’re seriously next-level and just as crave-worthy as everything else in the shop.
Nothing better!
I have had chocolate all over, and NOTHING compares to Rousseau. So creamy and even flavors I don't usually like (strawberry) is truly indulgent, velvety and has actual strawberries in it!
And I met the owners, they are more than wonderful.
100% recommend!
Just do it. Go! You won't regret it.
Excellent Customer Service Awesome Location and Great Food... Excellent macaroons and sweets... Stop by you won't be disappointed!!!
My professor loved this! She's from Paris and she was missing home so I got her some chocolates and macarons from here! They were delicious! She gave me a macaron and omg, so so yummy! So fresh! I wish I remembered to take photos, but I forgot to.

Macaroons were generally tasteless and cloyingly sweet a waste of $28. I would not recommend. Pleasant counter help.

The location is excellent, making it a convenient spot to relax. The shop itself is clean and beautifully designed. The service was exceptional; the staff were friendly.
However, the food fell short of expectations. I ordered a brownie that was unfortunately stale. The waitress kindly replaced it, but the second one was just as unappetizing and very much just as stale. I was surpised to hear her say it was baked that day. As a matcha enthusiast, I was disappointed with the matcha latte. It had clumps of powder that ruined the texture and very strong grassy taste. I also tried their tea, but the cup had this strong fishy smell to it that just ruined the experience. I was excited about the chocolate macaron, but it tasted quite plain; while I appreciate less sweetness, the chocolate flavor wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. On a positive note, I found the pistachio and lemon macarons delightful and would definitely order them again. Overall, I want to emphasize that my review isn’t meant to slander; it reflects my experience. The staff were lovely and the store was cozy. I would consider returning to try their chocolates.
