Was there for the first time in July, and the cocktails were excellent. However, I found service abrupt and impersonal. It was a rainy Friday night, with plenty of open tables so I didn't understand why the server kept removing the cocktail menu, then asking me if I wanted to order. The experience was a bit exasperating.

I was meeting my cousin for the first time in many years and he selected this British Pub. Food was excellent, with one of the best chowders I have had for a long time. All the typical pub fare you would expect including a range of pies, curry and a very good special - Lamb Shank. Good beer menu and a decent bar/games room downstairs.
The drawing room has always been a favorite of mine, with its stunning ambiance, cozy atmosphere, and luxurious decor. I used to frequent this place, enjoying its phenomenal drinks. However, before the vandalism and the impact of COVID which had it temporarily closed. Upon its reopening, I didn’t have a chance to go here up until recently. And I’ve noticed a change. The current weekend staff, though friendly, lacks the top-tier skills of the previous team. The drinks, while still from the same menu, now seem average and occasionally below par, lacking the character they once had. It feels as if they’re made hastily, without the finesse of the past. The waiting staff, though nice, lack the gentleness and classiness befitting the place. This critique is not about wrongdoing but rather a mismatch between the staff and the unique atmosphere of the drawing room. I hope the drawing room returns to its past glory very soon. Remember that staff come and go, teams change but the drawing room remains! So I will try here in a few months maybe, and I will update this if things improve.

We had dinner here on August 27, 2023, with friends. We were greeted and promptly seated in the downstairs area. I was quite warm and stuffy, so we asked to move to an outside table without hesitation. Our server was friendly and prompt. Erik had the pan friend haddock and Cheryl had the beetroot salad along with a couple of drinks. The food arrived in a reasonable time and was well presented. Everything was good and enjoyable. We would eat here again.

I came here on the recommendation of my uncle, who has been living out east for a few years now. It was my first real pub experience and it was enjoyable. I had a keiths and a chicken wrap. The food was amazing, one of the best wraps I have ever had, everything was so fresh. The server was friendly and quick. Overall, was an enjoyable experience
It is the best tomato soup for sure!!! And my friends seafood chowder was exceptional. Paired with fries and a Magners is amazing!!!
This was a delightful pub located about 3-4 blocks from the harbor and the cruise ships so it was a bit quieter. There was dining on the main floor and downstairs in the pub - same menu in both. We ate in the pub. It all felt very British. Our food was great - steak and mushroom pie for me and a cornish pasty for my husband. We knew it was made from scratch as the server made sure we were ok with waiting 20 minutes for them to be baked. We also had pumpkin ale from a local brewery which was just perfect for a fall rainy day.
This is a great warm friendly bar and restaurant with excellent food. Fish chowder is the best I have ever had and the Steak and mushroom pie. Staff welcoming!
Excellent place to eat and drink. The staff were very friendly, engaging in conversation about the food, beer and history of the premises. The staff take a lot of pride in their jobs and ensuring your totally satisfied. We visited on consecutive nights, both times the food was very good and hot. So many places serve luke warm food on cold plates, we can’t abide eating food that should be warm when it’s cold. Thankfully every meal we had was piping hot. The beer was equally impressive, that was cold as it should be ?
