“I don’t do reviews much but Sushi101 was incredibly delicious with an artistic flair that just added to the experience! We actually had to admire the artistry before diving into the various sushi roll plates. I am not one to take pictures of my food but the presentation of the various plates made me give-in and I did take my phone out for a few candid shots. I know it’s rude on date night to have a phone out but it really was that incredible!! Service was wonderful and a little wait is necessary when the food is coming out that fresh and beautiful. They were busy with eat in and take out; word must be getting out!! Well done chef and team at Sushi101!!”

“First time to visit PLP and I was impressed. It's true neighbourhood pub. People were gathered for celebrations, couples were having a bite after a busy day, folks were rolling in after a long work week and families were having a nice meal. It was wing night so it was busy. I should mention that they had live music and he was a great entertainer.

Only a few minutes wait for a table and the hostess was in constant communication giving us updates. I found that the menu had a great selection and it was good value. As others have noted, portions were a good size and the food was really good quality. We were a group of 6. Some people in the group had been to PLP regularly for a few years. They all raved about the portions and how good the food was and everyone was happy with their meals this night. Some had wings (awesome!!), one was a clubhouse, a few poutines and a nachos and everyone left happy.

Our server was friendly and attentive. She seemed like she was engaged with all the patrons on some level ie she knew many people at her tables well because she has been a server there for a while. We were seated close to the kitchen and there was an overall positive vibe. Staff were working together, communicating and helping each other out. I go to Porter's Lake weekly to take my daughter for a 2 hour volleyball practice. This may become a weekly supper routine!!!

“For the past 5 years that I have lived in the area I have been a returning customer! The food is exceptionally delicious. At least once a month for 5 years its been a treat for us to indulge in some of the most excellent pizzas we've ever had! The owner operator is a great cook/chef and a genuinely generous and hard working person! I certainly agree with another customer who has written here, that the owner goes well above and beyond the norm in sincere customer service. Its a pleasure having this establishment in our community!!”

“Lunchtime $5 slice is decent. If you call in be prepared to scream into your phone or they will hang up on you.. Clubhouse and fries is poet good if you eat there. Leaving the takeout container closed will result in a soggy terrible meal.”

“North is one of our favorite local spots. They host fun events (the drag shows are wild and I love to see that type of support in our community). We love the atmosphere, food is great, staff is always lovely and the beer is always good - in fact, their sours are beyond the best around and I really hope they start brewing them again. I was definitely a bit disappointed that they haven't offered one recently so.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back your sours! I also think their merchandise offered is more stylish then a lot of other similar places. It has a unique surf/beachy vibe that I hope they continue. What's even better is that they offer a 15% discount you can use on merch, if you show your receipt after dining in their taproom! Keep up the great work!”

They almost forgot my extra donair sauce that I ordered but they quickly picked up on it, apologized a bunch and went out of their way to make our night with some compensation. “We have asked Carolyn to make a strawberry shortcake for our moms birthday! it was absolutely amazing!!! everyone raved about the cakes, then we ordered cream horns, fish cakes and the list goes on. Preserving Traditions is our go to spot for special treats for our beloved mom. Everything we have ever purchased has brought my mom back to good old fashion recipes that make her taste buds come alive. one treat in particular brought her back to her own grandmother's cooking. what a beautiful experience to witness such joy. “What a gem of a place in West Bedford. I wanted to arrange a thank you pizza lunch for two local building site crews and they were so helpful to coordinate this with me. Not only was the customer service second to none, but the pizza was absolutely delicious! Great selections and quality ingredients. And did I mention delicious?? Although this is not super local to my house, this will definitely be my go-to place for our next pizza night. Well worth the drive!”

“We tried Bagirls for the first time and they are soooo good! Blueberry, chocolate chip, and banana! Blueberry is always a hit with my family, but I was really surprised by the banana. Wasn’t sure what they would be like but I think they are my new favorite. Just the perfect amount of sweet banana flavour. Highly recommend!”
