Double Dragon Restaurant

We have been there atleast 6 times in the last 6 months. Today was the last time for a long while, if not, forever. The waitress was asking to take our plates just as we finished the last bite, we were having a conversation and she kept asking for things...like, the plates, the drinks, then asked if she could take our cutlery, and asked if we were done... We didn't even have dessert yet as we were just having a conversation and not getting back up right away. It was still 30mins til closing, and new people were walking in, so it isn't that she needed us to leave. Either way, she rushed us, we didn't get what we paid for and she really could not read a room, or pickup the hints. Everytime she came over, we seemed agitated and had to stop our very important conversation to tend to get relentless questions and never ending interruptions. We have never been treated so poorly at DD New Minas.

I had to select one because zero is not an option if you want to make a review.The only reason we went to Double Dragon was because KAO was not open today. It was the worst chinese meal I ever had at DD. I had been there years ago and the food was bad. It has not changed. The chicken balls had wet uncooked dough inside and tiny piece of chicken. All dishes were cold or room temperature. There was chewy hard battered chicken on some dishes, the beef was rubbery, the wings were so hard it seemed like they were recooked numerous times. The vegetables were hard, runny plum sauce and the red sauce was congealed ...no flavor. All of the food tasted like it was made two weeks ago and re served several times. I thought great at least they have ice cream...can' t mess up ice cream. Ummmmm. The ice cream was crystalized. It had been thawed and refrozen multiple times making it luke gravel texture.. The chocolate was a strange color and the vanilla did not taste right. The chocolate fountain was not running but sitting with pools of chocolate stuck on it. Please know our waitress was lovely! That was the only positive part of the experience. This was supposed to be a special outing/ celebration. We spent $30 per person to sit around with bad stomach all evening. We tried to eat the ice cream because there was a sign that said you pay extra if you do not eat your food...we could not finish it.
I stopped to politely speak with our kind waitress about our experience.
There were many dishes offered but quality over quantity may be a better plan. If it is possible to cook fresh , hot food there.

I was in August 11th and ordered a big order, got home it was half right, I called in the morning as they were closed by the time I got home from work and explained that two of my items was wrong and not what I had ordered. They fixed what I didn't get and gave me a free item as well. Thank you Double Dragon for being so kind and understanding ❤️

Girlfriend didn’t leave a tip because she was paying with my card and didn’t know how big of one to leave and they were very rude to her because of that. A tip is optional tho right?😂

It was really good! I was a bit worried after reading the reviews but maybe lunch is the way to go instead of dinner. I came right at opening around 1130am on a Saturday, the food was really hot and fresh, well cooked, tasted great! Some of the better Chinese food I’ve had in a while. My biggest complaint is that they tragically weren’t serving any ginger beef. Oh also there was a curious red ice cream with chocolate chunks in that looked great, but was unfortunately grainy and not good, so maybe avoid that one.

Although Google said they were open, apparently they are closed between 2-4 pm. I drove from Halifax to try this place.

The place is clean, the food was good, the reviews are not the best but the wife and I decided to try it. We came from Halifax and was not let down. We actually really enjoyed it.

Ordered takeout. Everything was tasteless. Only 4 chicken balls in a combo plate, one was too burnt to eat, flavorless, bland rice and flavorless beef and broccoli. Very disappointed, not worth the price, won't be returning.
