OMG!
Don’t order the filet. I thought I broke a tooth on the gristle. We have not been here for years, now I remember why. We are local to Reno and will not be going back.

The servers were very nice and friendly, but the server was so busy it took a while to order and I never got a refill of wine. My wife ordered fettuccine alfredo and I ordered a steak. Unfortunately her fettuccine tasted like there was no cheese at all, it tasted like it was just butter. My steak plate was OK. The desserts were very good. We don't normally make a fuss of anything, we probably should, so I decided to write this.

Service was very kind. Really wanted to help with whatever I needed. Could have at least agnolaged me while i was waiting to be heped at ckin, I'm am very patient, just at least wave or something! Ambiance was great at night at the hot springs with the snow. The hotel room was ok. It is nice to have some extra amenities that standard hotels wouldn't have. However, the room was not amazing. It showed alot of use and ware. Holes in the sheets, dirty carpet, nicks, and white scratches on the furniture, etc. Cabnits need an update in the kitchen/bath area. Water damage from long term use, really its expected with the traffic, however shows its age. Was very happy with the clean shower.
Room walls are thin, can hear alot. Ice maker did not work. Printed map was unclear and hard to read for getting around.
All info stated breakfast at the restaurant, upon arrival was informed restaurant opens at noon. Not temporary either. Food was good, not great, would eat there again. I would not order pizza again, tasted like a frozen pizza, literally. Hot springs were VERY crowded. We did not book during busy season on purpose, however our luck.
Overall, it's for a 1 - 2 night stay if you have an event or are passing through. Not worth more time in my book.

First night, ate in the bar but a spot in front of the weekend performer. Slightly loud, but we had come in late and he ended at about 8p. My friends ended up having the salmon and steak that night and they enjoyed it. I had a bowl of onion soup. It hit the spot on a cold night.

There’s not a lot of choices in Genoa, but this place has charm.

Second night, we sat at the Buffalo table but put a napkin on one of the bright lights. I would suggest wrapping it with some amber gels or something because the lantern light is bright! I shared the prime rib dinner with my friend and plenty for two medium size/small eaters. Her husband also got the prime rib and ate it all! The middle portion of the prime rib was the right temperature how we ordered it (medium rare) but the outside portion was medium well or well.

We got the strawberry shortcake and shared it and just enough sweetness.

There was no crab in my seafood Mac n’ cheese, only prawns-even though it was mentioned in the menu. (The dish was bland and had no salt at all).
Sad because the dish was $30 and we chose to eat with this restaurant specifically because of the crab pasta.
Very disappointed and feel cheated.

We were very disappointed. We have gone there frequently in the past and shocked at the change. Service was non-existent, my ribs were burnt on the bottom to the point I couldn't eat them. Vegetables were over cooked to mush. The fries and beer were good!

Though they advertise that they are open for breakfast (everywhere including on their menus on Google and the QR codes in each of the hotel rooms), you cannot get breakfast here. The sign outside the restaurant says seating is limited, unsure why. Food is a little pricey but if you’re staying there, it’s convenient, and not bad. More veggie options would be great. In general the Holiday Inn David Walley Resort is a shadow of its former self. You get the sense that they are inadequately staffed everywhere you look. The grounds are unkempt, garbage cans were at the max, yet the location against the backdrop is beautiful. On a positive note, all the spas were functioning and clean - and for a spa, that matters.

Not for vegetarian options except for fries, salads, and vegetarian pizza but no bean or plant based patty for a burger. The service was good and friendly.
