Wasabi Sushi Reno

Practically the definition of OK. Sushi was not as good as other local ayce restaurants, however the appetizers were much better. For some reason out of saki and some of the beers. Of course covid was to blame, maybe the warehouse was out but there is a saki distillery in Berkeley that is open and has product ( I get an email from them once a week and they do have good saki). Everything started out really well here, and the only thing that bummed me out was that they were out of sake. The appetizers were fantastic, and the first 3 rolls (and nigiri) were awesome. Then we got to the 49er and Komodo rolls. The description on both of these includes a "smoked sauce," which sounded really interesting and good. However, that was not the case. Why why why? Why do people get into the restaurant business and don't have the passion for it? My dinner here was a complete disaster. The only highlight was a friendly waitress. Otherwise it was horrible. My daughter wanted unagi... "Sorry we ran out of unagi." Ugh OK. Mind you, the restaurant wasn't even busy.
