We have only ordered our food here to-go through door dash, however it is always fast and delicious. The Wok was my favorite spot for Asian takeout, but after they stopped allowing orders through door dash, this spot is my new go to and so glad I found it! The orange chicken is the best I've had, chicken chow mein is fantastic as well. Pot stickers and rangoons are delicious too. We have ordered from here several times now and it is consistently delicious. One day we will go in person to check out the ambiance, but I believe it's tailored a bit more towards those looking for takeout. They are currently closed December 2023 until February 2024 according to the answering machine when you call. Hope they enjoy their time off and we can't wait to order from them again when they re-open!

Living near Gao's for as long as they've been open I've been hesitant because it is only takeout. I've tried to encourage a friend to join me, but the offer was rejected because she prefers Dine-in. So I went it alone for lunch. I am such a fan of Asian food and I eat mostly vegetarian lately. Although their charbroiled meats look Really good. Anyway on this day I ordered salt and pepper tofu and egg drop soup . I Phoned the order in and it was ready in 15 minutes. When I got home and opened the bag I was surprised how generous the portions were. Tasting the food I has very happy. The tofu was crispy and flavored perfectly scattered with fried onion, green onions and a few jalapeno slices. And the soup was nice and hot and velvety with bits of tofu carrot and peas. I was very pleased and will take home food from Gao's whenever I have the craving for Asian food in a pinch. One more thing, their menu is large for such a small place and they also offer Chinese dishes along with Vietnamese. Lots of variety.

I have been a loyal customer since Gao 1st opened in the area. Always good food for years until recently. Not sure if they changed the chef or what but the food is atrocious. Undercooked or raw chicken, skimpy servings and not authentic Chinese noodles. The rice even seems to be instant or minute rice. Most recently I purchased the War Won Ton Pho. The chicken which has always been white meat was dark meat and raw. The shrimp tasted fishy and only one piece of pork was in the pho. The noodles are only best described as spaghetti noodles. They were NOT the vermicelli version of the pho noodles, they were literally spaghetti noodles. I am so disappointed as Gao was my go to restaurant in the area.

I discovered this place during Covid sono have never dined in. I have only ordered out. But the food is delicious and the staff has always had good service and been friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.

Everything I've had there is great! Been going for about 2 years now

The spring rolls were very disappointing this time. Just ice berg lettuce and rice with the shrimp. Nothing like the picture on the menu. Also much smaller.

My friend and I ordered takeout here last week. We had the salt and pepper fish (5 stars, the best in this area), scallion pancakes (3 stars - not enough scallions), flame broiled pork chop (5 stars - delicious!), and the shrimp and pork vermicelli (3 stars - only two shrimp). Wish they were open for dine-in though. Our favorite was the salt and pepper fish, with grilled onions and jalapenos, just the right amount of spiciness. I'm sure all the salt and pepper dishes (shrimp, pork, tofu) would be as awesome as the fish, and we plan on returning for those items! Only improvement suggested: give more shrimp in the pork and shrimp vermicelli!

I absolutely love pho, I've been to a lot of restaurants that serve pho in the reno/sparks area. This has got to he one of the best pho I've had. Broth was super flavorful and the give generous portions, I had plenty noodles, some places I end up ordering extra noodles.

Gao's is great for takeout/Door dash - I have tried several things but my go-to that I crave once a week and is consistently good is the chicken chow mein and the tofu spring rolls. Kung pao tofu is also fantastic. I think they still only do takeout and no dine-in, but they are quick.
