We decided to give Murrietas another try after the poor service we received years ago. The staff has changed. We were gambling at the bar and ordered their margaritas. The sign specifically says they will comp you a margarita with a 20 dollar buy in. We ate and gambled for over an hour, having put 20 dollars in me and my wife's machine. We get our check and the margaritas were not comped. I brought it up to the bartender and she argued with me, made me feel embarrassed, and cheap. They ended up comping the drinks as she said a manager was not there. Horrible service and we won't be going back.

Food came out cold with sour cream slapped on top and when I mentioned the food was cold, they reheated it with the sour cream and it was still awful. Wouldn’t recommend, unfortunately.

When I'm in Reno/Sparks area I always go to Murrieta's.
I ordered from the dinner menu. My server let me know the lunch was the same size for less money.
Win, win...good food for less. Happy camper!

The best automobile repair shop ever. I won't take any of my vehicles anyplace else as long as this place exists!

Pros: Nice people, authentic vibes, dedicated kids menu with simple and kid approved options, and their Gaucamole is some of the best we have ever had!

Cons: The Birria and Chicken Enchiladas were both a little bland. Not a ton of flavor. Nothing offensively bad but just kind of sub par for what we were expecting. We had the Chimichanga and salad in the past and those were a little better. Just missing the big flavor and spot on textures and balance we are used to at other authentic mexican places.

Excellent food and service. The mango margarita is very tasty as well. The chips and salsa are always great.

On June 29, 2025 me and my family order to go food it was a azada burrito , menudo and beef and shrimp and when we got home we were about to eat I cut the burrito an half and we found a long black curly hair in my son‘s burrito So I called the restaurant and talk to the supervisor he said that he can make new burrito or get $20 dollars back and I told him the we don’t want the food anymore that we were gonna take everything back and then he make a comment saying that we were lying, which we thought it was disrespectful so we when back to the restaurant to show him the hair inside the burrito and he didn’t want to see it he said the he was gone to give us half of the money but I told him is not about the money is about way he was treating us saying the we were lying. We always order food from this restaurant but I think we ‘re not doing it again just for a fact that they disrespect us and call us liars is no way to treat customer like this.

Salsa was amazing. I I ordered the enchiladas combo. Rice and beans was great. The enchiladas were good but not spectacular. Definitely overpriced compared to other mexican restaurants in the area.

As with every restaurant, there is only one thing that can ruin the experience of a great meal. Other patrons who don't know how to act. I have to give the servers here 10 stars after seeing how they were treated on my last visit. The abuse, attitude and entitlement of some guests is atrocious. Thank you to the servers here who do an outstanding job no matter what they're dealing with. With that said the Chile Colorado is my favorite, the Lengua is a close second. I'll be making this a regular stop on my dining rotation.

They have plenty of familiar menu items but also some different stuff too. The large beer is the size of 2 glasses of beer, nice outdoor seating area. We really enjoy coming here for familiar birthday dinners because they do the hat, song & fried rice cream.
