Absolutely loved it. Met up with 6 friends, whom I see semi annually from all across the state. Had the Steak Frites (a sliced flat iron steak with sauce), cooked to order which came with fries. Split a Smoked Gouda Mac n' Cheese. The atmosphere was great: old, dimly lit, velvet salon style with booths and wooden chairs. Early Roaring 20's music played in the background. The service was excellent and not obtrusive. It was a great spot to catch up and fellowship with old and new friends. Will definitely return in 6 months when we meet up next.Dietary restrictions: Accommodated members of our party with gluten-intolerant, lactose-intolerant, and Vegan diets.

Service was poor, never got drinks we ordered or food, it wasn't busy when we were there either. Food was average. The chicken Piccatta was not worth 32$. 32$ s all portions, and didn't even come with a salad or soup. Was brought some dinner rolls and that was it. We were Essentially forgotten about. Perhaps because we had two small children with us. Little did they know we are very generous tippers, but did not tip as we did not receive service. My suggestion is if you are l9oking for exceptional service and an amazing chicken piccatta with a soup or salad, drive to Mesquite and go to the cucina italiana. Not only is it way better tasting, larger portions, but also 10$ cheaper.

Amazing food and service ! Our dinners were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I told the server it was an insult to the chef to have salt and pepper on the table. The portions were large and presented well. This little hotel in the middle of nowhere is putting out some of the best dishes we've had in a long time, compared to Vegas. The service was thoughtful and efficient. We couldn't have asked for better. The restaurant is adorable, romantic and had great ambiance. I loved the time period correct music playing in the background. We didn't expect too much because this little town is 3 hours from anywhere. We were definitely pleasantly surprised.

We shared a Cesar salad, it was very good with no croutons. We had the filet mignon and the steak frites. Pardon my spelling. Everything was excellent. The service, the food… Excellent. Just go and experience going back in time with the background music that they play there as you have dinner in a very small venue, which made it all the more special.

The food was good and the people were very friendly. The menu was extremely limited for me as the restaurant was essentially a steakhouse, and there were very few offerings for a vegetarian. The waitress recommended the Mac and cheese and the garlic fries. The Mac and cheese was tasty, but I wish she would have warned me about the portion size. This was a side dish designed to be shared by the table. It was huge. The portion of fries was the same. My wife had the salmon again and enjoyed that, as she had before. The hotel, restaurant, and bar areas are just beautifully decorated in antique furnishings. The old vault section of the hotel is set up as a small museum featuring the history of the hotel, and there are pictures of celebrities with old, canceled, personal checks scattered throughout the corridors.

Alex (bartender) was the best ever… we chose to eat at the bar for the service (!) but ordered from the Jack Dempsey menu…. Quick and delicious! Chicken Piccata was perfect! Also had a steak with creamed spinach… fabulous!!! Date night is coming but maybe leave with a full tank of gas… well worth it!

We are from Vegas and are NOW willing to do date night here! There is no place in Vegas comparable and this is not a joke. This chef has blown us out of the water!! The flavors are amazing and crisp. I'm not sure who's in the kitchen but PLEASE DO WHAT EVER YOU MUST TO KEEP THEM! Thank you for flavors we have not tasted in so very long. We will be back every chance we get

It started to be a nice quiet evening , but as the night progressed it became a little loud. For a small place it was overwhelming. Service was ok , they seemed understaffed but were amazing keeping it together. Food was ok - presentation was good. Dessert was the best part.

I'm a longstanding, loyal patron of the excellent Mizpah Hotel, including its two restaurants—the regular one (Pittman Cafe) and the fancy one (The Jack Dempsey Room). My experience with Pittman Cafe has been great, over many years of patronage. My experience tonight in the Jack Dempsey Room was not great. The food was bad; the service was bad. I could go on but this sums it up: After "finishing" my meal—an indifferent wedge salad and a borderline-medical-emergency-sodium-overload of crispy things alleged to be squid—after finishing that, I waited at least 10 minutes for someone to notice I was done. Somebody did approach my table, with a smile and a plate. The plate had a small bread roll and a pat of butter. You know, like you would usually get before you get the entree. He was like "Tah-dah!"—but just . . . late. I hope Mizpah management will take my comments in the spirit intended, I'm a huge fan overall.

I can't really rate the food because after an hour and a half in both Jack Dempsey's and the adjoining bar, we received nothing but two drinks while we waited for 90 minutes. At Dempsey's, we waited for 20 minutes for a hostess who never arrived, leaving half a dozen people standing around. Then, giving up, we went to the bar where we were told meals were also served. Our two drinks arrived promptly but we were never given a menu so we couldn't order food, although we were told even if we did order, we'd have to wait another hour.So we left and headed for the Tonopah Brewing Company where we got a great dinner and drinks in a very prompt time frame - 4 stars for them. Zilch for this over-rated dump!

You gotta go here at least once. The world melts away while you dine in luxury of Tonopah's past while old-time music plays gently in the background. A little spendy, but not for what it is; a high-class relic that held tight to its heritage. Truly a gem.
