Have been to Cafe Capprichio many times over many years it is our go to restaurant for special occasions. To night we were very put off and unhappy with the attitude and treatment from our first waiter. I wanted to leave after several comments he made. Fortunately, my husband knew one of the other waitstaff who agreed to take over from the original waiter. Surprised original waiter is able to stay employed here.

Cafe Capriccio is and has been our most favorite Italian eatery. Jim, Franco, Carli and staff know the meaning of customer service. We have never been disappointed and last night was no exception! We highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Tuscan food. Our only complaint is the booths in the dining room are a bit tight. We love the outdoor cafe, bar booths and chef's table. We'll be back!!

Though I have known about this restaurant for a long time, this was my first visit and it was outstanding. Food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was lovely. I'll go back again before too long.

Excellent food, great service. Interesting place, definitely with a vintage vibe. We are from out of town, visited on recommendation. We loved it! If back in area, will visit again. Definitely make reservations in advance. There is street parking, and restaurant states you can park in municipal lot next to restaurant. Lot has a sign stating $10, but not sure if money collected at night though. We parked pretty easily on the street.

Celebrating Daughter's birthday, we dined at one of our favorite restaurants. Halibut special was excellent as was the duck. My veal chop was disappointing. It was fatty and covered in a thick wine sauce. It was covered the with a wet arugula and tomato salad. Eggplant appetizer and octopus appetizer were delicious. Desserts of coconut cheesecake and tiramisu were excellent.

The cuisine and hospitality were exceptional. The atmosphere facilitated a delightful conversation with my spouse, with the noise level being perfectly subdued. Our server was incredibly attentive and exceedingly amiable.
The hostess was very pleasant. They offered three options for water - tap, sparkling or still which I thought was very nice! The waitress seemed slightly judgemental like we didn't belong there - which she wasn't wrong lol but still should treat everyone the same regardless of how they are dressed or appear. The food was spectacular! We all shared the trio appetizer, I shared a ragu pasta dish with my daughter and my fiancée got the seafood special - scallops with risotto and vegetable. The desserts were to die for!! Lemon cheesecake, flourless chocolate cake and strawberries and cream gelato. I would return if the service was more genuine.

Very intimate, martini's were delicious. Lovely wine selection. Four entree's including the fresh fish of the day, all were exceptional in their own way with simple and elegant presentation. Would definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys quality Italian fare in the setting of a cozy cafe.

Fantastic food and service. My husband ordered a dish with sun dried tomatoes, but it came out without them, and it turned out they ran out of them. They offered us free dessert to compensate, although my husband still enjoyed his meal without the tomatoes. I got the chicken and eggplant sorrentino, and it was amazing. Everything was well seasoned, including the side of vegetables, which were delicious. For dessert, we got the pistachio cake and the flourless chocolate cake. The flourless chocolate cake was unbelievably good. Highly recommend that if you love chocolate! For downtown Albany, the location of this restaurant is great, because it's right next to the Grand Street parking lot, which is free outside of business hours. Will definitely return.

Update: The manager of the restaurant is now harassing me and stalking me online. why is a grown women harassing a 19 year old.I had a great service until after I left, and was bullied into giving a larger tip by the hostess I received a phone call and was threatened by the same hostess that to Each members of my party will be charged 20% gratuity on each card. This force me to go back to the restaurant with every member of my Party to clarify with her and felt like I was being treated like a criminal. On top of being forcefully, charged 20% on each card we were in a position where we paid even more money due to the lack of communication and misunderstanding of the server. Any establishment that berates their customers for not in their terms feeling like this was not enough should not be considered one of tasteful dining. As someone who comes from the restaurant business myself, this is quite an embarrassing situation that should never have occurred in the first place, and quite an unprofessional hostess.Update: The manager of the restaurant is now harassing me and stalking me online.

These people will berate you on ur TIPS and also stalked + harassed my friend on Instagram! As if our bill being over $200 for 4 people wasn’t already outrageous, my friends and I were bullied into giving a larger tip by the hostess after receiving a phone call upon leaving and was threatened by her to charge each of us a 20% gratuity on each card even though we were a group of 4. This restaurant does not have the basic ability to split charges based on each person’s order so we had to manually calculate our individual totals for them. On top of being forcefully charged 20% on each card, we were in a position where we paid even more money due to the lack of communication and misunderstanding of the server. So disrespectful!
