Lovely traditional Tuscan restaurant. Great service. Beautiful menu, all pastas are home made. Sauces little too heavy for my taste, but that's a matter of preference. I had the daily special sea bass, there are few things as satisfying as a perfectly-cooked, flaky filet of fish! Very attentive service. Decor is dated and room is dark. But then again more matter of preference.

The place has changed. The last time we dined there, the portions were far more generous. Their appetizers should be called small plates, not enough to share. Sad - they had a great menu......

Food is just amazing, everything delicious, well presented, perfectly crafted. Service staff flutters around from table to table, there is always someone at your side - also amazing!

The best in the capital district. Cafe capriccio is what every dining experience should be. Educated professional service and food that is magnificent. Never a disappointment which is unfortunately the exception instead of the rule in Albany proper. We are forever customers

We sat in a booth. The wall light was much to strong. It needs to be softened. Also, gave the wait-person our orders for drinks, appetizer, and entrees all at once. As a result, our appetizer was served before the drinks were served, and, once the drinks were served, the entrees were served. That was unprofessional service, in our opinion.

Lovely family-owned Italian restaurant. Nice, cozy atmosphere with some innovative appetizers and good homemade pasta. I'd love to see more than one primarily fish entree. The chicken francese was terrific!

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. They claimed to make the pasta in house, but I know the difference between dry amd fresh pasta and that was definitely dried pasta from a box. The antipasta was fine, but unimaginative. We had a Osso Bucco for our entree, the meat was good, but the vegetables were cooked to death and the risotto was undercooked and poorly seasoned. I was really hoping that this would be a great restaurant, but it fell short of my expectations and didn't meet its level of good reviews. The waitstaff was great, very attentive and personable. The short comings were all from the kitchen.

The only feedback I can give too many waiters and waitresses come over to your table asking the same questions as the one who just left . There was another couple by us thought the same .

Another fantastic experience here. I brought two good friends of mine that have not been there in many years we decided to sit at the bar with Daniele . She always make sure you have a good time. We had great service and fantastic food always a delight. The atmosphere and mood in the place are always on point my friends wife grew up with a father, who was an Italian chef, his entire life, and she was blown away by the food five stars all the way!

Nestled in an ambiance of warmth and style, the dining area boasts soft lighting, intimate seating, and tasteful décor. Earthy tones and captivating art create a relaxed yet lively atmosphere, enhanced by soft instrumental music. Paired with outstandingly delicious Italian cuisine, the experience becomes a memorable culinary journey.

There were 8 of us. Our table was ready when we walked in. We were seated quickly. Our main server was Daniel who gave us a very fun run through of the day specials. He told us they were going to be using a team approach to make sure we got everything we needed so no one was waiting from the appetizers to the main courses were outstanding as usual everyone loved what they got, we had a great time. After we completed our meals Lane brought us a special homemade Italian Nocina after dinner drink. It was delicious. A special night for us. The ambience, service and food are A+. Do not hesitate to make a reservation.

Literally a hole in the wall place that hit it out of the park for us on all fronts. The staff was intimately familiar with the menu in all aspects. They were collaborative in presenting the meal. Scallop special and Oso bucco entrees were expertly prepared and delicious. They truly walk the walk of Italian food at this establishment.

We were attending a concert at the Kenmore Ballroom and knew we should dine at Cafe Capricco beforehand. We have dined at this wonderful gem many times, and we are never disappointed. Jim and his amazing staff are always on point and the food is always amazing! A must try for those who have not experienced Cafe Capricco!

We had a great pre concert dinner and really enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and the special scallops with green beans and risotto. It was all quite perfect. The service was grande too!!

Cafè Cappricio is by far the best Italian restaurant within a 100 mile radius of Albany, NY. In addition to their savory meals and exemplary waitstaff, as a bonus they have a huge parking lot next door, which complements their on-street parking. This restaurant not only offers a cozy and romantic setting in their dining room, but they also have a private dining room for larger groups (a dozen or more) in which they bring the kitchen to you with your meals being prepared right before your eyes. Albany, NY's Cafè Cappricio is a hidden gem that you must visit and will look forward to returning to again and again for all your special occasions.
