“Our whole little family met in Albany yesterday morning for a surprise 70th Birthday for my sister who lives in Vermont and wasn't able to get out of Vermont! We celebrated without her at a Greek restaurant in which we were capped since we made a reservation.! Everyone stayed over and she made it at 11 AM today 13 of us and we had another party! I could be the only one who plans a party and it snows again! All is good and a great time in Albany today! If any one is in Albany stop by the Capital City Diner who doesn't take reservations but set us up this morning when they heard what happened! They fixed our problem! ?Her son came from Maine on Friday thank goodness and we had NJ, NY and PA with us! Thank you so much Capital City Diner you guys totally Rock and made a special Birthday and everyone happy! Waitresses were great! Great food! All i can say is THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! Her daughter lives around the corner from you and my sister will be back on her visits for sure! You GET A 10 STAR FROM ME!“
“I think this place is under new ownership and in transition but the new folks are really friendly and the food is very good. I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich. It was prepared well and quickly and was perfectly balanced and very tasty. The standout feature was the hard role it was served on. It was soft, yeasty and much more memorable than you'd think sandwich delivery media has any businesses being.Parking: This place us inside an office building with lots of free parking and a traffic light controlling access to Western Ave. so you can get out without worrying if you need to take a left.“
“Hands down the BEST bacon, egg and cheese in the capital region (and believe me, I’ve tried a lot). Perfect ratio of bacon to egg to cheese on a fresh hard roll. And if that wasn’t enough to get you to go there, the family who runs it is so kind and hard-working. Their other breakfast and lunch offerings, including the coffee, are equally as delicious and they have the best prices, especially for downtown Albany. It’s located in the Albany County Courthouse, but is open to the public and has a sweet dining area. You won’t be disappointed and will be supporting a lovely family.“
“It's a nice local family Diner. Some historic fossils on the walls, very nice traditional diner atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp, but doors and seating are not great for navigating a wheelchair. Still it is accessible.“
“A wonderful breakfast spot convenient to hotels, SUNY, and the state house. Super friendly service, classic breakfast menu, good prices. I was so happy i accidentally found it when looking for a Dunkin. And they'll do a to-go coffee cup for you.“
“4 stars for atmosphere only because this place hasn't changed AT ALL in 20 years, but that's not a complaint.... To me, it means they're about the food and that's it. The waitresses had smiles for everyone and there was nice conversation from nearly every person who walked thru the door. Food was great, got exactly what I wanted... Despite my desire to eat plain eggs toast and potatoes, it tasted exactly how I wanted it to.“
“The biscuit and gravy was "ok"... Tasty enough, not southern gravy, which because it's NY I guess it's forgivable?I gave a 3 for the atmospherebecause they had "Fox" news on, otherwise it would have been more...A suggestion for businesses... If you have more than 1 TV in your customers area, give people a choice . Fox on one and another news network on another.“
“I'm a fan of, and regularly attend, Naughter's Midnight Breakfast. Whether you are trying to wind down for the day with a cup of coffee and a conversation , want to get a nostalgia hit while searching the impressive collection of cassettes for your favorite artist, or you're an unawakened, "Foodie," there for the daily specials that are [always] worth foregoing your, "Usual;" you'll quickly learn to adopt Naughter's as your last stop in Troy. I traveled around the world with the military, learned to cook like a Southern Italian during Christmases with my family in Foggia, experienced the tremendous variety of cuisines in Asia, but had to travel to a hidden diner in Troy NY to be introduced to my new favorite soup, Vichyssoise.“
“Food is excellent, the diner itself is beautiful on the interior and the people are cheery. The waffles and breakfast sandwich options are superb, and the food came out ridiculously fast. Our empty drinks were never taken for refills, though, and that’s kinda sad.“
“We didn’t realize that the “diner menu” ended at 4PM. We were pleasantly surprised! The Ecuadorian/Mexican menu is delicious. I got a chicken chimichanga - for only about $12, I was surprised by the sheer volume of food that came out. It was plated beautifully and was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking out the dinner menu.“
