“A great neighborhood grocery! Super small and packed to the gills with essentials!I went in for a very specific but mundane request "wax paper" and they had it, stacked way up on top of one of the coolers (a very nice worker found it for me). They have a large selection of hot food available as well as vegetables, spices, baking essentials, and more.Very happy to have found this convenient and friendly grocery within walkable distance of my apartment!“
“I had a delightful meal at Mr. Pio Pio. It was pleasantly tasteful and delicious food. The Arroz con Pollo meal was delicious, smooth and soothing to the tongue with a silky and saucy relish for the senses. The food is nice, hot and soothing for the belly. The appearance of it is eye catching and unique for the eyes.“
“The empanadas are absolutely delicious ! We had a sampling and enjoyed them all. They were fresh, flavorful, and we were very left satisfied. We recommend Viva empanada to anyone that enjoys Latin food and anyone willing to try fabulous empanadas. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and explained in great detail everything they had to offer. I can’t say enough good things about them.“
“I had such a difficult time locating this restaurant on Yelp. Then, I came to the realization that it might not be listed. That surprised me because I've seen plenty of great online reviews for this place where it's overall rating is about 4.7. Apparently, the reviews are on a different platform. So let me fill Yelpers in. Encelbollados El Idolo opened this year. It's an Ecuadorian restaurant. I'm happy to say it's one of at least 3 eateries in Albany County featuring food from Ecuador.I became aware of it in early summer. There have been a number of eateries that opened at this location, but none lasted long. Then, some friends pointed out there's this new business at 450 Madison Avenue and the food is quite good. What's more, it's still there! So my husband and I went to find out albeit we're kind of late on this. All of our friends have already been there. You can get an assortment of traditional dishes. The restaurant appears to be family run. I can understand more Spanish than I can speak. The staff is friendly and most appeared to understand English. The menu is quite extensive. We were hungry so we picked the first items on the menu, which were not the cheapest. Oh, but they were good! Especially the shrimp ceviche, which can best be described as a delicious shrimp salad filled with lime juice, spices, red onions/ shallots and chopped vegetables. I also wanted to try conch ceviche. I should point out that there are many different types of conch and this wasn't what I expected. My husband liked it. I found it to be an acquired taste. The ceviches were served with South American cancha corn nuts. I really like them. I found them to be highly addictive and more fun to eat than popcorn. As for the beverage, I probably should have just requested a bottled water. There's a wide variety of sodas to chose from including the Tropical brand from Ecuador. Somehow I wounded up with orange soda which actually went well with the meal. I didn't look to see if there were alcoholic beverages. My apologies. There are several tables set up for casual dining. The decor is simple and clean. It's very orange-- I think that's due to painted walls--very vibrant.Empanadas, fries, plantains are among the popular foods at this restaurant. There are yummy looking rice dishes served with grilled chicken, fried pork or steak. I look forward to coming back. I'd like to try the fried breaded pork with rice.“
“We ordered take out today for work, a birthday. It was a large order that I was able to place the day before. The girl Who took my order was very patient, friendly, and organized. We got our food exactly when I asked, everything was correct nothing missing and the food was fantastic! These days you rarely get this. Usually some issues happen. We got Great customer service all around! Thank you- we will be ordering again!“
“Born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, I grew up surrounded by some of the best Spanish food in NYC. Fastforward, and Saratoga Springs has nothing, just bad Mexican food. One day, walking around in the mall, I ran into this place! Being PR and DR, I appreciated the dynamic they have and the food is fantastic! Par with the best New York City offers. You'll love this place a ton!! Enjoy!“
“The woman at the counter didn’t seem to understand me, just said no to everything. Disappointing bc the online menu is not correct so once I went in to pick up, I wasn’t able to add items that I now see are actually on the menu. The food is great.“
“Best Latin food I ever had! I had the half rotisserie chicken and the Cuban empanada and it was out of this word! Also, when I arrived the food needed another 5-10 mins and they offered me a drink for good customer service, but didn’t take it as it was well worth the wait.“
“I'm always looking for a great authentic street taco. I saw the La Capitol Taco Facebook post and decided to drive the hour and give it a try . Up front parking was a bonus, I'm disabled. Located in a type of modern food court in a strip mall. There was no wait. I ordered the 3 steak taco's and a pure leaf tea at their counter, paid and took a seat. They bring it to you when ready. The tea was warm but who cares lol it's all about the tacos! They arrived loaded with steak onions and cilantro. They looked impressive! There was tons of meat with flavor, but I wish the meat had some BARK on it and they dbled the fresh tortillas to hold all that meat . The side sauce was yummy but not near enough of it lol. Chips and salsa is sold separately .“
“What an excellent little place! The empanadas in particular are just amazing. Highly recommend getting one or two or five. ? The curly fries were great too. We will be coming back again for some more empanadas and to try the fried Oreos & fried twinkies.“
