Guge's Dogs Reviews
Posting on behalf of my husband who just completed the Erie Canal Trail (b/c he doesn’t have fb):
Visiting from NC, found this hidden gem in Amsterdam. Ordered two loaded dogs, large fries, and locally made chocolate milk. Fries were great: hot and crisp. Chocolate milk hit the spot and definitely tasted better than what you see in stores. The dogs were outstanding: sauce worked well with the mix of toppings.
Best part was the hospitality and the vibe. Long story...read full review
Discovered this gem on my drive from Northern Cal to Boston in January. Joe’s shop is on the Mohawk River below Amsterdam Castle & next to the original Erie Canal Store! Historical ambiance off the charts here. Oh & he cooks up a lot more than hot dogs. His meat-sauce omelette is a solid culinary 10.
So while out an about today. Was getting hungry and stopped in and boy we were amazed by the friendliness, the cleanliness, and the service was unbelievable. We were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The food was amazing!!! We will definitely be stopping back. If you have never been here, then definitely go check them out. Definitely 5stars. Thank you for a great lunch.
