Excellent food and very reasonable prices, which is hard enough to come by these days and the crew are super friendly and helpful if I lived closer I'd definitely make this a regular spot!
Exploring the Erie Canal Trail, I found this hidden gem in Amsterdam. Ordered two loaded dogs, large fries, and locally made chocolate milk. Fries were great: hot and crisp. Chocolate milk hit the spot and definitely tasted better than what you see in stores. The dogs were outstanding. I can't describe exactly what it was. Discovered this gem on my drive from Northern Cal to Boston in January. Joe’s shop is on the Mohawk River below Amsterdam Castle & next to the original Erie Canal Store! Historical ambiance off the charts here. Oh & he cooks up a lot more than hot dogs. His meat-sauce omelette is a solid culinary 10.
