“Ichiban in Auburn NY is a wonderful Japanese Steak House that has been opened it's doors in the 2010's to significant anticipation by the community at the time.

The food is consistently good, and the staff have always been kind, thoughtful and hard working. They always make you feel welcome and cared for. I always choose to eat at a booth, and never done the Hibachi. I have heard the hibachi is excellent, and it always looks exciting when I have gone there to eat but I enjoy the simplicity of a booth experience.

The atmosphere and ambiance are where I feel the restaurant truly shines. It occupies what was originally an old Ponderosa building, and they have molded the space elegantly to be a peaceful and serene dining environment. You walk over a small pond at the entrance with Koi fish swimming underneath. The seating is private and comfortable, they play quiet music, and it truly adds to the entire motif. Couldn't say enough about the comfort it brings to be there.

Truly recommend this experience if you are in the area and have a chance to eat there.“
