“Made a quick stop here to have a drink and clear my mind and this was the perfect location to do so! I left my phone and the car and enjoyed a yummy cocktail. Overall, Great atmosphere, great bourbon , staff was friendly, it was quiet and peaceful! Will definitely be revisiting.”
“We've been coming to Bethel annually every Woodstock anniversary weekend...We pass Hectors all the time. Last year, we finally decided to attend; they were hosting a musical event. It was the best experience EVER. The grounds were beautiful. Amazing ambiance, great music, they had a food tent making burgers, etc...it was great! The people working the event were friendly and welcoming. There were many vendors with a huge variety of 1960's era related items. My husband attended the original Woodstock festival and he blended right in and felt at home. The event had an authentic Woodstock "vibe". What a wonderful, magical, relaxing, and enjoyable experience. Moving forward, we will include Hectors as part of our annual visit to Bethel. Thank you Hector's Inn!”
“Tiny country store not far from the site of Woodstock, selling everything from deli to fresh burgers to T-shirts. It's billed as a pizzeria here, but as of September 15, 2023 only sells pizza on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheesesteaks we got, which we ate on one of picnic tables out front.”
“SoupySoup is the first place my family goes when we come to the area to stock up on lunches for the week. The Classic Beef Chili is think and delicious. My son loves the Carrot Apple Soup and my other kid and my wife love the Rosemary Lentil Stew - both as think and delicious as the Chili (but both vegetarian). As if it were possible to make a perfect soup even more perfect, be sure to pair with his Dinner Crispy-Roll - perfect toasted with a little butter and then dipped in the soup. But wait - if the homemade garlic butter is available do NOT pass that up, making a perfectly perfect soup even more perfect. And yeah, pick up a pint of ice cream to bring home while you're there.”
“If there is any place to spend your time and money, its a place like this. Great enviornment, great staff, delecious cocktails and cider. You simply can't go wrong. Even if you want just an app a drink and a good view. This is the place. It's very hard to find consistently good food and service in the catskills. The owners put their best foot forward here.”
“Great service and even better food. Traditional diner classics with Greek specialties as well. My family of four enjoyed the sandwiches and dinner specials as well. A good sign of quality diner is the way they make a classic cheese burger - and their burgers are perfect. But you need to leave room for their desserts! If not take them to go - you won’t regret it! This has been my go to diner for past three years.”
“I absolutely love this place! First off the owners are super cool. Their food never disappoints. Definitely a great place to sit, eat, and drink good coffee. They have a nice deck. The wifi works which is important in this area! Definitely one of my favorite breakfast places.”
“Recently went for my first time and everything was great from service to the food. Staff was friendly. Food was perfect and didn’t wait long at all . My new spot for lunch or dinner.”
“This roast beef sandwich was fabulous! We needed a snack . My cousin who lives in the Catskills told us about this sandwich. I had not idea a place in the middle of the forest would be so good . The meat was tender and slices so fine . The service was good . The ambiance was rustic as it should be .”
“We were looking for somewhere to grab dinner while traveling. Wife found Star online and it looked like a good spot. Please don’t take this the wrong way; the onion rings were VERY GOOD, and that was the worst part of our meal. Buffalo wings were awesome (but get there early because we heard they sell out quickly). Our burgers were great, and the sweet potato fries were the best we’ve ever had. Our waitress/bartender was very attentive but not overbearing. It’s definitely a “locals” kinda place, but travelers (like us) are made to feel like locals.”
“Really great artisan pizza! The Ferruccio, white pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil, off the charts! Made a modified version for my girlfriend without cheese, very accommodating. 10 out of 10!”
“We had the BEST night at Bridge and Tunnel Brewery Liberty NY Catskills! If anyone ever goes to the Catskills you NEED to go here. The owner, Rich, knows how to brew beer. ? The stouts are absolutely scrumptious. The Hefe is crisp and the IPAs are tasty without being too strong. So much balance in every brew he makes. There wasn’t a single thing that was bad. He really is a master at his craft.Everything was incredible and the space itself was beautiful and immaculate. It’d be an amazing venue for a show or an event. Nice, open, and immaculately clean. Rich takes pride in this space and place and it shows.Chris, our tender for the night, was absolutely amazing too! He even serenaded us with some Simple Minds and INXS. ?He was knowledgeable about ALL the beers on the menu and was more than happy to give us a sample before we committed to a pint.So glad we got to spend time there and enjoy an amazing night with amazing people. ❤️”
“This place has some of the most unique and inventive specialty pizzas I’ve ever seen! I picked up a “Jackson Pollack” pizza last night in my travels and it was absolutely incredible. Red sauce, vodka sauce, eggplant sauce, and pesto all on one pizza…life changing.”
“The food here is delicious! Stopped here on way back to NYC from Syracuse. The woman was very kind and offered us the daily special - arroz con pollo (rice w/ chicken) + salad + tostonoes (mashed fried plantains). We ordered 2 specials and 1 hamburger w/ fries. The presentation of food was beautiful and the food was delicious- fresh and flavorful. The tostones had mashed avocados on it. The salad had some lemon squeezed on it. The chicken in the rice was pulled with some veggies. The hamburger was delicious!!! Had minced sautéed onions - overall delicious. 3 meals plus drinks for under $50. Very clean too. I will be coming back on my next trip up. We ate so fast that I missed taking a picture of the food presentation. Don't miss this spot!”
“What a nice spot for a coffee, tea, and pastries! It is a large location with an open floor full of brightness from all of the windows. The coffee drinks are very good, and the pastries are even better.Kid-friendliness: The books are great for the kids.”
“I grew up in Queens and have sampled Pizza from all over New York City, and every time I have a slice when I'm visiting this small town of Jeffersonville I am blown away by how good this Pizza is! Crispy thin crust perfect balance of sauce and cheese and I love that the sauce is just a little on the sweet side. One of my favorite pizzas from anywhere!”
“Great salads, soups, sandwichs, chicken wingsKeep Missing spaghetti and meatballs night but we'll make it one of these weeksGirl that waits tables and does the bar great and always cheerful never to busy to check on you needing”
“This is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I lived in NYC for 15 years and basically only ate Thai food. This beats all of the places there! And, friends who come to visit agree.Dietary restrictions: My husband has terrible food allergies (including onions and garlic) and Sweet Basil is always accommodating. They cook everything fresh and you can tell.”
“We don't live in the area, but over the years whenever we're passing through we make sure to stop-in for a meal. As the name says, this is a Diner, and a half-century ago when such establishments were common that wouldn't have needed any explanation. The establishment is family-run and very reasonably priced, sometimes things take a little longer to get to the table, but that's because they have a large menu and make things fresh. Breakfast is always cooked to order, lunch specials include a hot or cold beverage and house-made rice or bread pudding, with whipped topping at no additional charge, while at dinner dishes like their beef brisket and pot roast are classics, again accompanied by generous sides including their house-made chicken soup, which seems to have a different pasta in it on each visit, but is consistently good. The facilities are clean, there are booths and a counter in the main room, and plenty of tables in the large side room, while a rotating case displays their desert cakes, a slice of which is included with their dinner specials. I know they do take-out, but I've never tried it, part of the point of a diner is to dine there and eat the food while it's hot! We've been there often enough to spot the regulars, and while we don't always agree with their politics, we leave such matters aside and enjoy the food and service, both of which are worth a detour!”
“Fantastic Bagels and kick ass lemon bars! Fantastic ambiance and fantastic human beings. They obviously take pride in everything they do, an they do it top notch”
“We love Lickity Splits. We have been coming here as a regular treat after scout meetings. Great ice cream! I especially love their pistachio but all the scoops are terrific. The folks that run the place are cheerful and gracious. Good service, nice place, great ice cream.”
“The staff are extremely nice. Food is great. General tso is uniquely made and dumplings appear home made. Never had that before. Egg roll was huge and delicious. Now for the negatives: soda is expired, place is a bit dirty and they had cats running around the kitchen. Lo mein was meh.”
“The food tasted pretty good. My only complaint is how expensive it was for a “large” Stromboli. $30 for it and it’s not very big at all. I remember getting Stromboli from Peppinos in callicoon and how it was a giant “U” shape so I was expecting something a little similar. It wasn’t enough to feed our family (2 adults and 3 toddlers)”
“The tacos are a flavorful symphony of taste, making every bite a delight. While the service and setting may not be top-notch, the outstanding culinary experience is worth the visit.I will go back for sure to try different dishes.”
“Really nice renovation on this quaint little bar. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. Lots of tv's i'm sure game nights would be awesome there. They offer pool, darts and a small but nice menu. Conveniently located right on main street there's no need to drive there's plenty of taxi services and locals can walk there.”
“Our absolute favorite pizza place. Hands down. We moved away for a few years and everytime we came to visit or was a must stop! A variety of pizza toppings like the cheeseburger and chicken marsala or the sweet chili chicken...I love this place. I've had others, but Paesanos just does something a bit better. Their loaded chicken salad is delicious, also! Haven't had anything disappointing.”
“Absolutely love this pizza place! I come from NYC and still consider this pizza place, in a rural town 90 miles away from Manhattan, to serve some of the best NY style pizza ever. The owner got quite mad at me once for using the bathroom without having ordered anything, but that's to be expected from a restaurant ”
“It was very good had a ton of options to pick from. The service was wonderful and I was able to go sit on top on the roof balcony to enjoy my ice cream which was very lovely. And there serving sizes were very big for the prices. Definitely will be going back ???????”
“Absolutely wonderful spot with delicious food. Friendly service, and I love all the art and fresh baked goods. Historical building, cozy ambiance. We had several vegetarians in our party and we were all able to find great choices. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Grilled cheese, split pea soup, quiches, homemade veggie burger, salads, veggie wrap -- plenty to choose from.”
