This place is a piece of Binghamton -- and First Ward -- history. When I was a kid growing up on Downs Avenue my grandfather would take me to Downs Tavern when he was babysitting (yeah, things were different back then...). Downs Avenue is by far the best bar in Broome County. Yes the drinks are priced very reasonably, and the wings are awesome. But it goes far beyond that. Wether your a first time visitor or a regular, you'll feel very welcomed. Now you won't get any fancy frozen drinks, but just solid everyday stuff. And on Saturday mornings at 9am, yes 9AM, they have the best sausage sandwiches for $2!!! Do yourself a favor and visit Downs! The best!! Mino
