This place is the jewel of riverdale. The food quality Is beyond anything anywhere in the area. Heck, it's better than anywhere else in the state! This place Is not your average barbecue joint. The food is homemade. The recipes are all from scratch. Everything from the feta cheese to the Greek salad to the chutney. For the simoses, he's a taste of authentic and hi caliber quality.. You're gonna spend $$$$ here. It's not cheap, but you don't get quality for cheap.
I write to recommend the Barbecue Pit located at 5788 Mosholu Avenue. Despite the restaurant being a Riverdale fixture for twenty plus years, my family just started being "regulars" there. Each time we go we are amazed at the quality of the food, including barbecue (see picture of me below) but also much more, including vegetarian options and Indian dishes reflecting the owner's Indian descent.
