I ordered take out from here so I cannot comment about ambiance or service. I got the pasta with vodka sauce. It was good. Nice portion. Just needed more cheese. The arancini was really good but the sauce didn't go with it at all. I used the leftover vodka sauce instead.

What a lovely spot for dinner. This place is always great and I think I’ve been here over 10 times. Excellent unique pasta dishes and great service. Super comfy seating as well in the booths. Happy to live right by Barano, thank you guys for an excellent dinner last night.

The food is excellent, every time we go or order, but what really sets this place apart from the many other restaurants with good food in the area is that it’s run by good people that go above and beyond for their customers. I haven’t experienced this level of generosity and customer service in nyc in a long time, in particular Zach has been incredibly attentive. Highly recommend. Also a wonderful place to dine for families.

A great, though somewhat inconsistent, choice for a meal with friends. We ordered the Vodka Pizza, which was marvelous—creamy, sweet, balanced, and so easy to eat. The star of the evening was the Saffron Gigli. You need to order it. It was aromatic and complex, with perfectly cooked pasta, a touch of sweetness and heat. The lamb pasta, however, was serviceable at best, and it tasted like nothing more than lamb. The only redeeming quality was that the pasta itself was properly cooked. The broccolini was nicely roasted, but it was overall much too salty. Some of the items are absolutely stellar, and others are disappointing. Stick to the tried and true and you'll have a wonderful evening.
The attention and personnel are excellent!! Service excellent. The food is good, don't take me wrong but not extraordinary. The garlic bread is fantastic the best. In fact all appetizers are amazing . the main courses are ok and with good portions . Price is modetate

The space is nice, but not extraordinary. The dishes, on the other hand, WERE extraordinary. The Caesar was dressed perfectly, with pillows of Parmesan. We had Burrata with mushrooms—sautéed just so. And the bucatini Nero was delicious. I love that the shrimp was served tails off, btw. We had good service, as well. I asked about a wine I wasn't familiar with, and decided to order it after hearing the waitress' description. Even still, she offered me a taste before pouring.

Amazing food and atmosphere!! The manager Karim greeted us at the door with such a welcoming and inviting attitude I felt like we were dining at her home. We were celebrating a girls birthday dinner and received such amazing service by the entire team! Our table was touched multiple times by the floor staff to ensure our dining experience was exceptional, which we really appreciated. Thanks to the entire team over at Barano! Highly recommended for any special occasion, takeout, or to fix that authentic Italian craving.
I'm from New Jersey and this place BLOWS AWAY any Italian restaurant there -- yes, even Hoboken. Pasta, pizza and wine were all the best.

Food was really good and unique, especially the like aioli and the potato dipping sauce. Customers at the adjacent table were noisy/rude and the waitress kind of stopped coming over eventually which led us to skip dessert.

We did restaurant week. The appetizers: Cacio e Pepe arancini balls—they were ok but not memorable Salad—too much onion. Mains: Pizza: appreciated the quantity of sauce Spaghetti: appreciated the quantity of sauce Dessert: Canoli: filling was great, the shells I think were a little over cooked Olive Oil Cake: cake was too dry. I wish there was more of the ricotta spread. We didn't finish this.
